Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery is one of the most common plastic surgery operations. If the size of your breasts is making you difficult in your daily life, if it affects your choice of clothes, consult a plastic surgeon. Before the operation, we make a preliminary assessment by breast USG or mammography according to your age, and then, if there is no problem, we plan your operation.

Who should we do breast reduction surgery for?

If your breasts are large compared to your body structure and they are uncomfortable,

If there is a disproportion between the breasts that is, if one is too small or large compared to the other,

If there is excessive sagging on the nipples

But the most common complaints in patients who come to us are lower back, back and shoulder pain and the formation of diaper rash under the breasts.

Or if you can’t dress the way you want just because of the size of your breasts and it affects your self-confidence, you can have breast reduction surgery.

When can you have the operation?

If the breast enlargement is complete, theoretically you can have this surgery if you are over the age of 18. However, if you are married and have a child plan, it would be better to postpone the surgery. Because increased hormones during pregnancy have a direct effect on the breast, and excessive growth can be observed, and shrinkage and sagging can occur during and after breastfeeding. Before surgery, the presence of chronic diseases, the medications you use and whether you smoke are questioned. Again, as with any surgery, you should quit smoking at least 3 weeks before breast surgery and not drink after surgery.

Breast Reduction Surgery

Breast reduction surgery is performed under general anesthesia, scars may remain on the nipple and bottom (with vertical scarring) or on the nipple and bottom in the form of an inverted T (with inverted T scar). This surgery is one of the most painless operations of plastic surgery. Usually you stay in the hospital for one night and go home the next day. Scar removal creams are also given at the appropriate time after surgery to make the scars less visible. You can start sports such as walking if you feel good immediately after. Most patients return to work after a week- 10 days. You need to use a special bra that will be provided to you for up to 6 weeks Jul after the surgery.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation surgery is performed in patients whose breasts are not sufficiently developed or have lost volume after childbirth and breastfeeding or after excessive weight loss. Here we usually use breast implants, which we call silicone. Depending on the situation, fat injection can also be performed. In patients whose breasts are not sufficiently developed, it is sufficient to place an implant only, while sagging is also often observed in patients who have lost weight or breastfed, it may be necessary to do a recovery, that is, a lift, along with augmentation.

Everyone’s rib cage and anatomical structure are different, so using the same type of silicone for every patient does not give a nice and natural result. For this reason, a detailed examination and measurement are performed before the operation, and accordingly, it is decided together which implant can be used.

Who Are Breast Augmentation Surgeries Performed On?

If you are complaining about the smallness of your breasts, if you do not have the old plump breasts after giving birth to a child, or if they have shrunk too much after excessive weight loss, if you are experiencing a lack of self-confidence, you can have this surgery.

What should be considered when choosing silicone?

Silicone’s can be anatomical (drop-shaped) or round according to their shape, the surface can be rough or flat, the inside can be filled with serum or silicone gel. When there is such a wide variety and extent of silicon, what is decided according to? The anatomical structure of your rib cage, the placement of the breasts, the location of the nipples, the width of your shoulders and the thickness of your soft tissue are very important. According to the measurements made before the surgery and your request, the most suitable one is selected and placed

Breast Augmentation Surgery

Breast augmentation surgeries are also performed under general anesthesia, according to the thickness of your soft tissue can be placed in the under-muscle and over-muscle plan. Breast augmentation surgeries are also performed under general anesthesia. It can be placed by entering through an incision made around the nipple or under the breast. It is necessary to stay in the hospital for one night, you can return home the next day, swimming and heavy sports are not recommended for a while (a month) if the muscle is placed under the muscle, if you smoke, you should definitely quit.

The silicones used here are also, after all, a foreign body, and the body, as with any foreign body, limits it and surrounds it with a membrane that we call a capsule. This is a natural structure. But in some patients, this capsule we are talking about may thicken and harden and come to hand, leading to pain. In such cases, it may be necessary to remove the silicone and put a new one.

Breast Lift

Breast lift surgery is a recovery surgery performed on breasts that have sufficient volume, but develop sagging and deform. In fact, its logic is like breast reduction, but here the tissue is not discarded, it just recovers. If the volume is small, silicone can also be inserted during recovery.

Again, as with a reduction, it is performed under general anesthesia, an inverted t-shaped mark may remain on the nipple and bottom (vertical) or on the nipple and bottom. However, since the tissue is not discarded here, T’s legs are much shorter compared to reduction surgeries.

The general principles are exactly the same as in breast reduction surgery, the use of special medical bras is recommended for 6 weeks, scar removal creams are recommended, if silicone is also used, heavy sports are avoided for the first 1 month.
