ABOUT CORNEAL COLLAGEN CROSS LINK IN TURKEY

CORNEAL COLLAGEN CROSS-LINKING (CXL) IS A TECHNIQUE USED TO TREAT CONDITIONS LIKE KERATOCONUS, POST-LASIK ECTASIA, AND CORNEAL MELTING DISORDERS. IT IS AN EFFECTIVE METHOD TO STRENGTHEN THE CHEMICAL BONDS IN THE CORNEA USING UV LIGHT AND A PHOTOSENSITIZER. BY DOING SO, IT CAN HELP STABILIZE AND STRENGTHEN THE CORNEA, POTENTIALLY PREVENTING FURTHER PROGRESSION OF THESE CONDITIONS.

  • Patients must not wear contact lenses at least 3 days before the surgery.

FIRST DAY

The patient will attend a consultation with the ophthalmologist and will be advised about the procedure and their condition. Corneal Cross Linking Surgery will be performed.
