ABOUT LIPOSUCTION IN TURKEY

.
LIPOSUCTION ALSO KNOWN AS LIPOPLASTY, LIPOSCULPTURE, OR SUCTION LIPECTOMY, IS A COSMETIC SURGERY PROCEDURE DESIGNED TO REMOVE EXCESS FAT FROM SPECIFIC AREAS OF THE BODY. IT INVOLVES USING A CANNULA INSERTED UNDER THE SKIN, THROUGH WHICH A HIGH-PRESSURE VACUUM IS APPLIED TO EXTRACT UNWANTED FAT. LIPOSUCTION CAN BE PERFORMED ON VARIOUS BODY PARTS WHERE FAT ACCUMULATES, HELPING TO RESHAPE AND CONTOUR THE BODY. IT IS ESSENTIAL TO CONSULT WITH A QUALIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON TO UNDERSTAND THE PROCEDURE, BENEFITS, AND POTENTIAL RISKS.

THOSE WHO ARE WONDERING ABOUT LIPOSUCTION

Q: Is fat absorption an effective method?

A: The result to be obtained after fat absorption, if the right indication is placed, will be quite striking and effective. With this method, localized fat deposits are removed, which cannot be eliminated despite diet and exercise. It should not be forgotten that this is not a method of weight loss.

Q: Is fat absorption a reliable method?

A: If performed in experienced hands and carefully, the major risks of surgery are quite low. If an amount of oil greater than 5 liters is taken, the problems and risks that may be encountered increase. In such cases, many plastic surgeons consider it appropriate to monitor the patient for a day in a full-fledged hospital. The problems that can be encountered at a smaller rate are disproportion, too much or too little fat intake, deformities and sagging skin.

Q: How big are the incisions made?

A: In the standard “tumescent liposuction” method, it is entered with incisions made about 0.5 cm in size. Slightly larger incisions can be used in operations performed with ultrasound.

Q: How much pain does it cause after surgery?

A: Because a liquid containing anesthetic substances is injected into the tissues in the tumescent technique, it is observed that surprisingly little discomfort is suffered even in cases where fairly large areas are interfered with.

Q: How long will I be able to return to work after the operation?

A: If you don’t have a job that requires intense physical effort, you can start working again in a few days to a week. This period may be slightly longer in jobs that require more intense physical activity.

LIPOSUCTION IS MAINLY PERFORMED ON THE BODY AREAS

  • Abdomen
  • Waistline
  • Hips
  • Buttock
  • Inner / outer thighs
  • Above the knees
  • Upper arms
  • Under the chin
  • Neck
  • Back

Other surgeries can be performed the same time with liposuction types if required as;

Wet Liposuction – small amount of fluid with less volume than the amount of fat, which is going to be removed, is injected into the target area. The fluid helps loosen the fat cells and is suctioned out.

Super-wet Liposuction – this technique uses less liquid than tumescent Liposuction but about the same amount of liquid as fat is removed.

Dry Liposuction – there is no fluid injected before the fat is removed. There is a higher risk of bruising and bleeding than other techniques.

Ultrasound-assisted Liposuction – also known as ultrasonic liposuction, the Cannula is energized with ultrasound. This makes the fat melt away on contact, the ultrasound vibrations burst the walls of the fat cells emulsifying the fat and making it easier for suction. Longer incisions are needed for this technique and there is a risk of skin or internal burns.

Power assisted Liposuction PAS – uses a specialized Cannula with a mechanized system that rapidly moves back and forth allowing the surgeon to pull out fat more easily.

Laser assisted Lipolysis LAL – requires the use of tumescent fluid. A microcannula is inserted through a small incision to deliver laser energy and heat to subcutaneous fat (fat under the skin).

Tumescent Liposuction – several liters of saline solution with local anesthetic lidocaine and vessel-constrictor epinephrine (adrenaline) is pumped subcutaneously (below the skin) in the area that is to be suctioned. The fat is suctioned through small suction tubes called microcannula.
