WHAT DOES LIPOSUCTION DO?

Despite intense sports or diet, it may not always be possible to get rid of excess fat in some parts of the body in natural ways. Deformities due to regional lubrication are more noticeable, especially in summer. The classic Liposuction method, which is one of the most commonly referenced procedures in this regard, has been applied in the world and in Turkey for a very long time. The technological innovations brought by the age provide convenience in all aspects of life, while the aesthetic, beauty and health sector also receives its share of developments.

Turkey Medicals hospital member and Turkish Aesthetic and plastic surgery specialist Doctor briefed on the matter.

.
WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?

Liposuction, popularly defined as fat removal, is a regional slimming method with the most basic narrative. It is done to eliminate excess adipose tissue in certain areas of the body and eliminate deformities. It can be applied to areas where there is stubborn lubrication, such as the abdomen, especially the buttocks, waist, buttocks, knees. Liposuction is applied by vacuuming fatty tissues through tiny incisions through thin cannulas.

.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POWER ASSISTED LIPOSUCTION?

The difference between this method and conventional liposuction is that the cannulas used in the fat removal process move back and forth in a short range of 300 times per minute. Interchangeable cannulas are attached to the handle, that is, the handpiece, and this handpiece is connected to both the device that will give vibration and the aspitator that will absorb oil. Depending on whether the tap is hard or soft, the number of movements per minute can be adjusted.

.
WHAT ARE THE PROS OF PAL?

The two most important advantages are that it reduces the duration of surgery and the tissue is less traumatized. Both of these advantages mean a faster recovery time. Again, it has been shown that it causes less bruising than the classical method, both in experience and in scientific publications. Another advantage is that the surgeon’s effort is significantly reduced. Thanks to this device, the reduction of fatigue and operation time also positively affects the outcome of the procedure.

.
TO WHOM DOES PAL APPLY?

Despite sports and diet, it can be done to men and women who can not get rid of stubborn fat. Liposuction is definitely not a weight loss method. The fastest recovery and the most laughable result can be achieved when it is done in stubborn lubricated areas of people of Ideal weight. People whose weight varies rapidly and who are overweight are not suitable candidates for this procedure.

.
IN WHAT SEASON SHOULD I DO IT?

Power Assisted Liposuction can be performed in all seasons. Of course, the most demand for this application comes in the pre-summer months. Regional lubrication, which is not considered due to the influence of thick clothing in winter, can cause discomfort to a person in summer. This method, which allows the fastest change, is often preferred especially for the summer season.

.
WHAT IS THE RECOVERY TIME?

The recovery time varies depending on the skin structure of the person and the width of the fat area and the amount of fat taken. An average of 600 to 1000 cc of fat is taken after a procedure to the waist area called ‘love handles’ of a patient of Ideal weight and most of the recovery is completed within 2-3 weeks. Healing after fat taken from the’ stubborn quince belly ‘ can sometimes take as short as 1-2 weeks. But’ 360 liposuction ‘is required for a period of at least 4-6 weeks after removing the fat of the entire body, including the abdomen and back, which we call ‘360 liposuction’.

.
CAN YOU ENTER THE SEA AND POOL AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

After PAL (Power Assisted Liposuction), you can enter the sea and pool, but as we mentioned earlier, the recovery period can vary from person to person. A person who has liposuction surgery in Turkey in a weak and small area can easily go overboard after 2-3 weeks. Sunbathing and tanning is another matter. A plastic surgeon does not think to recommend sunbathing to his patient, given that the most important factor in skin aging and skin cancer is the sun’s Rays. But on the one hand, who doesn’t like bronze skin? However, it is important to remember that after Liposuction, skin hydration is interrupted and the skin becomes temporarily more sensitive. For this reason, it will be useful to delay sunbathing for a few weeks. When exposed to the sun’s rays, it is necessary to use moisturizing sunscreens and apply them around the clock. As small incisions made for Liposuction are already stored under the bikini, no additional recommendations are required for these areas.

.
IS THE EFFECT OF THE PROCESS PERMANENT?

Fat tissue is not replaced by a new one. For this reason, liposuction in the field of fat will be difficult even if the person gains weight. But, of course, the right thing is to maintain the ideal weight during the surgery period in Turkey.
