DO NOT START TREATMENT WITHOUT READING THE CONSENT FORM

The purpose of the consent form is to inform the dental patient in Turkey about the diagnosis, the treatment to be applied and the risks that may occur and to obtain his consent. Never be cold to read the form.

We always hear that;

– I definitely wouldn’t have done it if I knew it would be like this…

Nowadays, the greatest need of patients is to be informed.

Patients have the right to know all the benefits and negatives about the treatment that will be done to them.

Treatments in Turkey related to oral and dental health include a number of problems and complications due to both the patient, the doctor, and the environment in which they are located. After an ideal treatment planning, this information should be read and signed before starting treatment. But nowadays, the fact that patients do not want to sign such forms when they read them, and doctors only tell them verbally due to the intensity, has made consent forms a form requested by forensic units only when there is a problem between the patient and the physician. Now I would like to share with you the consent forms for some of the preferred treatment methods in dentistry. Perhaps you have had these treatments before, but I am sure that many of you have not filled out these forms before the treatment.

.
WHAT IS THE CONSENT FORM?

The purpose of the consent form is to inform the patient about the diagnosis, treatment to be applied and the risks that may occur, and to obtain the patient’s consent for medical treatment. It is wrong to consider the illuminated consent form, which has different qualifications for each medical branch, as a specific, formulaic printed document.

It is of a separate nature for each dental branch, and it should be prepared separately for each medical intervention, since each concrete event in a branch can have different consequences from each other.

The most important thing to note here is that the patients have given their consent to the medical interventions that will only be performed on them. The informed consent form serves as a kind of a function of making the intervention to be made in the personal presence of the patient in accordance with the law and ensuring that the patient has satisfactory information about the interventions to be made to him.

Patients make a number of requests to doctors in order to get what they want as a result of the intervention to be performed. Doctors in Turkey, on the other hand, should not give the patient a 100 percent guarantee of success in this regard.
.

It should be remembered that the human health depends on the cotton thread, patients should be informed about all kinds of complications that may occur during surgery in Turkey.

.
SAMPLE APPROVAL FORM

The approval form is as follows:

“In order to inform you and to start your treatment, you must fill out and sign the sections at the end by reading this form that has been prepared to get your approval.

Implant dental application is a treatment that the physician can give indications by examining the field of application and the tissues and formations in the neighborhood, resorting to a number of examinations, evaluating the systemic, economic and socio-cultural condition of the patient and the patient’s hygiene habits. The doctor can evaluate these factors together and start treatment with the approval of the form.

Implant application may sometimes require more than one operational intervention. These operations can be in the form of making the existing bone suitable or shaping the anatomical formations that are in the neighborhood. In these operations, it may be necessary to remove tissue from an area inside or outside the mouth. After waiting for a while after the implant is inserted, the superstructure is started to be made.

Anesthesia is performed to the area during implant application. Your treatment will be performed during temporary numbness caused by the anesthesia performed. Applications injection pain, swelling, nerve damage, infection, allergic reactions and in rare cases, respiratory distress, heart attack, stroke, brain damage and death may result.

Complications such as implant fractures, infection in the surrounding tissues, and loss of the implant may occur during or after implant application. There may be problems such as pain, swelling after operations. In order to be able to use it in these cases, you should use the medications that will be given by your doctor appropriately.

In addition, because a fixed or movable prosthesis will be made on the implant, complications may also occur with this prosthesis.

For this reason, approval should also be obtained for fixed or movable prosthesis applications.
The area where the implant will be applied:

I have carefully read and understood what was written above, I give my consent to the transaction.”

THE HARM OF MISSING TEETH

Healthy chewing function is so important for the body that even a lost tooth can lead to a violation of the balance.

Here are the harms of missing teeth:

The missing tooth image primarily spoils the person’s smile. A person’s self-esteem decreases, he experiences difficulties in social relations. Cavities formed by the missing teeth do cause lips and cheeks to collapse and wrinkle, creating an older and unhealthy appearance on the face.

Due to the missing teeth, the chewing pattern also changes. A person does not want to use the area where there is a missing tooth, and makes one-sided chewing. A person who has abandoned bilateral chewing may experience pain in the jaw joints due to unilateral chewing.

Foods that are not chewed and ground enough due to missing teeth can lead to stomach problems such as indigestion, bloating, gastritis, and ulcers because they are swallowed whole.

In the area of the missing tooth, the neighboring teeth are turned over into the cavity, the opposite teeth extend into the area of the missing tooth, and therefore the chewing function decreases.

It becomes difficult to clean and care for teeth that have fallen out or lengthened. Caries, sensitivity, gingivitis, and pain can occur in the teeth. This condition also increases the risk of losing other teeth.

.
THE BENEFITS OF THE IMPLANT

Although there are various techniques for eliminating dental deficiencies caused by various reasons, the implant is one of the greatest blessings that technology brings to us. Titanium screws compatible with the tissues placed inside the jawbone, that is, implants, fuse and become stronger with the jawbone over time. After this fusion, the cut tooth-like superstructures are screwed into the cavity inside the implants and prosthetics are made on it. It is very difficult to distinguish a correctly planned implant prosthesis from natural teeth. It can be coated one by one like natural teeth and can be cleaned easily. As with the bridge, it does not damage the teeth next to the missing tooth.

These features, as well as:

It looks and functions like your natural teeth.

It eliminates the lack of chewing and speech function caused by tooth loss.

It protects the bone around the pulled tooth and prevents bone resorption, which makes the boundaries of the prosthesis look like a natural tooth.

It preserves the natural structure of your face and your smile.

It brings back your lip aesthetics.

As with bridges made to eliminate tooth deficiency, your solid teeth will not be cut.
