WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SEE LESS IN DIM LIGHT?

Age related inability to see a relative (presbyopia) is one of biggest cosmetic problems of humanity. Considering that this is a cosmetic problem when making a decision about surgery, the patient should be very well explained and no harm should be done during treatment.

Turkey Medicals member and 22 years Eye diseases and surgery specialist Op.Dr. gave information about the subject.

Presbyopia; the intraocular lens changes shape, increases refraction and focuses closely, we can compare this to the zoom of a camera.

After the age of 40, the lens loses this feature and problems with close focus begin. This is a physiological aging and grows on average +1 number every ten years after the age of 40.

Forcing you to see a relative in a dim light, taking a newspaper you are reading a little far to see better, indicates that presbyopia has begun.

How does another discomfort in the eye affect presbyopia?

Myopic patients can usually see close by removing existing glasses after the age of 40, while hypermetropic patients have to use a second reading glasses.Presbyopia usually begins at the age of 40 and unfortunately occurs in everyone. Refractive surgery is the most important problem that doctors cannot solve the answer to the question .

.
PRESBYOPIA TREATMENT IN TURKEY

Glasses use: glasses that clearly show near and far, which we call progressive, are the most preferred treatment method in the world. Although it takes time for the patient to get used to it, they can be comfortable afterwards.

Multifocal Contact Lenses; patients can be happy if they can get used to it, but dry eyes should be taken into account .

LCK-LightTouch conductive keratoplasty; this method, which was approved by the FDA, was replaced by these surgeries 1-2 years ago due to innovations in multifocal lenses.

It is a method with various advantages and disadvantages

Cornea has advantages such as being done without cutting, but because it is done with hand surgery, factors that can depend on the person, such as the patient’s inability to look at the light, movement, can be effective in the results of the operation. However, laser operations are studied with precision at the micron level.Although it is used today, it has moved away from being a very preferred method .

.
MULTIFOCAL INTRAOCULAR LENSES

It is a surgical method applied to patients with cataracts and over the age of 40 who have hypermetropia or myopia and want to see them nearby.

The group of patients to whom the method is applied are people over the age of 40 who cannot see both far and near, preferably with hypermetropia.

The most important complaint is that there may be glare and dispersal in the lights at night.

MONOVISION LASER THERAPY IN ANTALYA MEDITERRANEAN

A full correction is made to the person’s distant dominant eye. In the near non-dominant eye, the number -0.75 -1.00 is left myopic by making a correction more than the full correction.

As result, presbyopia treatment is a cosmetic treatment. So we must not harm the patient during treatment.Patient selection is very important. In the future, there will be an opportunity to solve this problem with skilled lenses.

.
THE NEW PRESBYOPIA TREATMENT METHODS IN TURKEY

1- INTRACOR

This method, which corrects close vision and ends the use of close glasses, is performed only by the Femtec Femtesecond laser device in Turkey specially developed for treatment of Intracor presbyopia. Femtosecond laser focuses the laser beam at the desired points in a short time (15,000 points per second) with micron-level accuracy and creates water-containing bubbles of 1-3 micron size in the corneal layer, and these bubbles allow tissue decomposition. Thus, presbyopia treatment is performed without cutting the outer layer of the eye, without thinning the corneal tissue.

It is applied in a different way than Lasik treatment. For the Lasik applications in Antalya, flap incision from the cornea is made while this new treatment also does not need to make flap incision from the cornea. Because the front surface of the cornea is not touched, it is applied in a very short time, such as 20 seconds, without the risk of pain and infection. Applicable to thin and dry eyes.Immediately after treatment, the patient returns to his normal life. The advantage of this method, unlike other methods, is that it can be applied to 2 eyes and correct close vision without disturbing far Vision.
.

ADVANTAGES

* ALSO CALLED, THIS TREATMENT INTRA COR IN TURKEY, IS A METHOD THAT CAN BE APPLIED PRIMARILY TO ONE EYE AND 3 TO 6 MONTHS LATER TO THE OTHER EYE. UNLIKE OTHER EXAMINATIONS, IT DOES NOT AFFECT DISTANT VISION.

• THERE IS NO HARM IN APPLYING IT TO EYES THAT HAVE PREVIOUSLY HAD CATARACTS OR LASER SURGERY.

ABOUT 2 D CLOSE GLASSES NUMBER CAN BE CORRECTED…

IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET ONE HUNDRED PERCENT RESULTS FROM THE TREATMENT?

ITS MOST IMPORTANT FEATURE IS THAT IT IS APPLIED WITHOUT CREATING A DISTURBANCE IN DISTANT VISION AND CORRECTS NEAR VISION.

THERE IS NO RISK OF LOSING THE EYE WITH THIS METHOD.

90 OUT OF EVERY HUNDRED PEOPLE WHO APPLIED THIS METHOD BECAME NEWSPAPER READERS WITHOUT GLASSES, AND THEIR OLD COMPLAINTS NEVER RETURNED.

THIS METHOD CANNOT BE APPLIED TO PEOPLE WITH THE ONSET OF CATARACTS AND A THIN HORN

APPLIED TO PATIENTS OVER 45 YEARS OF AGE

THE FACT THAT HE HAS HAD A LASER BEFORE DOES NOT PREVENT HIM FROM HAVING THIS OPERATION.

.
2- SUPRACOR

Supracor is a simple procedure that can correct close vision. During this procedure, excimer laser is applied to the outer surface of the eye and the cornea is gently reshaped. In presbyopia surgery, supracor is safer than in other refractive surgery.

The goal of near-vision supracor treatment is to improve your near-vision so that you can read the articles you encounter every day on a newspaper, restaurant menu, computer or mobile phone without glasses. Supracor is a safe and effective method that corrects both far and near vision in one session without disturbing far Vision.
.

.
ITS PRESBYOPIA CORRECTION SURGERY THAT PROVIDES 90 PERCENT SUCCESS, THE RESULTS OF WHICH ARE QUITE LAUGHABLE.
.

.
The SUPRACOR is a new corneal technique in Turkey that can be applied with Teknolas Excime Laser 217 P. It is made in both eyes thanks to the presbyopic algorithm. It is applied in cases of hypermetropia, Emetropia and myopic eyes, as well as post-LASIK. In a single session, both far and near vision is corrected. Developed and combined based on our Intracor Experience, 2 is the best in the world. In other Presby-Lasik methods, unwanted aberration (deviation) occurs in the Pupil (pupil) area and distortions occur, while in this method, unwanted aberration is concluded without creating.

There are some eligibility criteria for Supracor. After these are detected by examination and measurements, treatment can be applied. Supracor can also be applied to any eye suitable for the Lasik method. Restrictions include eye diseases such as dry eye, cataract, thin cornea, glaucoma, keratoconus, as well as lasik candidates. While the chances of success in intracor were in the 80%, thanks to Supracor, we managed to increase the chances of success in close treatments to 90%. In addition, for the first time with Supracor, distant farsightedness and close farsightedness (presbiopia) can be treated at the same time. Besides the success rate of 90%, the most important other success is that there is no loss in the quality of distant vision. In all other presbiopia treatments, there could be losses in the quality of distant vision.
