WHY IS CANCER ON THE RISE?

Doctor stating that we live in everyday life sometimes knowingly, sometimes unwittingly intertwined with carcinogenic substances, Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. “That’s why our health is under great threat,”  said.

Many factors play a role in the development of cancer, which is characterized as the plague of the era, from genetic factors to environmental pollution, from smoking to malnutrition. Prof. Dr. listed the causes that trigger cancer and the precautions that should be taken as follows:

CIGARETTE

it contains about 4 thousand chemicals, and about 50 of them are carcinogenic. Contrary to popular belief, nicotine is not a carcinogen, but a chemical substance that causes addiction. The most important carcinogenic substance in cigarettes is 3,4 benzopyrene from PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons). In addition to smoking, pipes, cigars and hookahs also increase the risk of cancer in direct proportion to the amount and duration of use. Its cancer-causing effect persists for up to 15 years, even if it is completely stopped.

ALCOHOL

Its consumption triggers cancer in proportion to the dose and duration. If smoking is also involved, this risk is greatly doubled. Alcohol more than two glasses a day increases the risk of cancer.

FERTILIZER

The use of this white powder, which is a strong insecticide, is prohibited. In the years it has been used, it has led to cancer, especially in people living in rural areas. Along with those who use the drug for agricultural purposes; it has created a carcinogenic effect by mixing with food and water.

VIRUS

Viral infections are responsible for 15-20 percent of all cancers. These are Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), Helicobacter Pylori, Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) and AIDS viruses. It is understood that one or more of the cancers of the adrenal gland, rectum, bladder, breast cancer and cervical cancer are related to viruses.

OBESITY

Metabolic syndrome (metabolic disease) is a clinical condition characterized by obesity and belly button, diabetes, hypertension, high lipids in the blood and low benign cholesterol. It has been established that there is a close relationship this syndrome and the development of cancer. It is one of the causes of pancreatic cancer, especially in men, large intestine and breast cancer in women.

RADIATION

It has been established by some studies that high levels of radiation can disrupt the hormone balance, cause oxidative stress, and as a result, invite cancer.

CHAMFER

Diesel and gasoline engine exhausts, tobacco and tobacco products, smoke formed as a result of frying food contain PAH (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) and are carcinogenic. In barbecued meat, a high percentage of chamfer is formed during the making of doner.

ASBESTOS

Getting into the body through the respiratory tract or drinking water, it leads to cancer. It is mainly used in cement and textile industry, heat and sound insulation materials, automobile brake pads and ship industry extensively. A very low percentage of asbestos is present in the air we breathe and in the water sources we drink. Inhalation of asbestos dust, which occurs during the demolition of old buildings, increases the risk of cancer.

BENZENE

It is found in petroleum products, paints, varnishes and adhesives. Although it is forbidden, it is already used as an adhesive in some shoe and leather goods workshops. The most important side effect is that it leads to bone marrow disease and causes cancer.

DIOXINS

Dioxin-containing substances formed as a result of processing and burning industrial and domestic solid waste are transmitted to water and plant products, leading to a carcinogenic and disrupting the hormonal system of the body.

CHLORINE

Trihalomethanes, which are obtained as a result of the chlorination process used for disinfection of drinking water and pools, are compounds with a carcinogenic effect.. In addition to chlorine, drinking water pipes from time immemorial can have a carcinogenic effect.

AFLATOXIN

This carcinogenic substance, which is the products of fungi that infect nuts, peanuts, dried legumes, oil seeds and cereals stored in unsanitary conditions, poses a risk for liver cancer in particular.

PLASTICS

In particular, acidic drinks sold in plastic bottles, pickles, tomato paste, water in pet bottles, plastic bottles carry risks in terms of microplastics that have recently entered the consumer agenda.

UV RAYS

Prolonged unconscious sunbathing provokes the development of melanoma (skin cancer) and other skin cancers in the first place.

ARSENIC

This chemical substance, which is widely used in the textile, glass, mineral, chemical and pesticides industries, can be transferred to food, drinking water sources, fish and seafood through waste. Arsenic exposure is high in those who work in these branches of industry, those who drink a lot of wine, those who live in wooden houses, and the risk of cancer increases.

NITRATES AND NITROSAMINES

It is often used as a preservative additive in salami, sausages, sausages, canned food, meat and fish products. In addition, high levels of nitrates are present in fertilizers used in agriculture. When nitrite and nitrate that reach food and drinking water are ingested into the body, they can be converted into nitrosamine, which is a carcinogen in the acidic environment of the stomach.

AIR POLLUTION

In addition to the fact that air pollution leads to various respiratory diseases, it can cause lung cancer and many other cancers.

.
HOW CAN WE TAKE CANCER PRECAUTIONS?

If we know our family history and genetic predisposition to cancer, we can take measures before the cancer develops with cancer screening methods, get a chance to diagnose and treat it early. With lifestyle changes, so stay away from cigarettes and alcohol as much as possible, eat organic, processed-foods to stay away from added clean water to consume resources, bask in the short term, try to stay away from chemical carcinogens, HPV, HIV, EBV, hepatitis B and C viruses such as monogamous and get vaccinated to protect themselves from living through measures such as it is possible to reduce the risk of cancer.
