WHY SHOULD WE STAY AWAY FROM SUGAR?

Turkey Medicals member Doctor who stated that sugar found in many prepared foods is consumed at a record level today, said: ‘however, sugar does not have a benefit to the body and the excess is harmful.’

Sugar, which is considered one of the three important poisons, is one of the flavors that everyone, small and large, cannot resist… but today it is found not only in sweet foods, but also in many of the ready-made foods.

This means that we load too much sugar every day. Our Turkish doctor listed the problems caused by excessive sugar consumption as follows…

.
THE ONLY POSITIVE FEATURE IS TASTE

Sugar consumption, which was almost zero until the end of the 1700s, has steadily increased every year, reaching record levels today. Refined white sugar has been replaced by naturally occurring sugar compounds in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes today. Refined sugars have no positive properties other than to give a taste. Currently, the average person’s annual sugar consumption exceeds their weight. Sugar is empty calories, has no nutritional properties and reduces the body’s sources of vitamins and minerals…

.
HIDDEN IN SOME TURKISH FOODS

Excess fat consumption has been blamed as the cause of obesity, sugar, heart and cancer diseases, which have increased over the past 50 years. For this reason, reducing the amount of fat in foods has been raised. By adding a lot of sugar to low-fat processed foods, good taste, delicious foods are introduced to the market. Food companies have managed to maximize their sales and profits by adding more and more sugar to all kinds of processed foods. With the increase in sugar consumption, the frequency of chronic diseases also gradually increased. Soft drinks, in particular, account for a significant 1/3 of sugar consumption. White powder and cut sugar, as well as various other sugar compounds, mainly fructose, are found in most processed market products. Bread, cake, cookies, cakes, candy bars, chocolate, ice cream, ketchup, mayonnaise, soups, sauces, yogurt, pickles, food items, including cola drinks and fruit juices sold in markets in at least half of the refined sugar is available.

.
CAUSE OF OBESITY IN CHILDREN

Foods containing sugar are the biggest source of calories for children of developmental age. A large proportion of children meet at least half of their daily calorie needs from such foods. Therefore, obesity is increasing. 30 percent of school children are obese and 50 percent are overweight. A low-fat, high-calorie diet consisting of refined white sugar and processed fats facilitates the emergence of obesity and many devastating diseases, especially diabetes, heart disease, cancer, in later ages, when physical activity is minimal. The quality of food consumed in childhood is extremely determinative for the health status in adulthood. Parents should keep their children away from fast food products, burgers, french fries, cakes, cakes, cookies, starched drinks and other junk food products so that children do not develop bad habits.
