WHY IS OBESITY IS AT LEAST AS DANGEROUS AS THE CORONAVIRUS?

Turkish Professor Doctor, “Obesity, which is increasing in the world and in our country and has a close relationship with diseases such as heart, cancer, diabetes, is a big threat to our health,” was said.

Obesity, which is considered an epidemic today, is spreading at a great pace in the world and in our country. Moreover, it is observed in all age groups, including children.

Turkey Medicals member and hospital department head of Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. explained the reasons for the increase in obesity and the ways to deal with this problem as follows.

.
BEWARE OF THESE DISEASES!

United Nations Secretary-General drew attention to obesity and obesity-related diseases by the world on a very important warning: “The world is dying, Plague, influenza, Ebola, AIDS is not; rather, obesity is caused by an infectious but non-microbial diseases (diabetes, heart disease, cancer, dementia), is. These diseases are a much greater threat today than infectious diseases in both developed and developing countries. Urgent measures must be taken.” Indeed, it is known that almost 70 percent of the world’s population is overweight and obese.

.
ONE OF THE REASONS IS OBESITY

Toxic chemicals that have a negative effect on the hormonal system and cause weight gain are called ‘obesity’. Obese people lead to obesity in many ways. Like estrogens, they act by increasing fat cells, slowing down metabolism; disrupting the mechanisms of hunger and satiety, inhibiting thyroid function; creating insulin resistance or destroying the pancreas. Pesticides, phthalates, bisphenols, heavy metals, PCBs, cigarette smoke, air pollution are defined as obese agents. Environmental pollution increases the problem of obesity. Babies, children, pregnant women and the elderly are much more sensitive to obese chemicals.

.
AS YOUR WAIST GETS THICKER, YOUR LIFE BECOMES SHORTER

According to the Obesity Research Association of Turkey, ‘of the many factors known to cause obesity, the most important ones are excessive and improper diet, lack of physical activity. Traditional natural nutrients have been replaced by energy-intensive, ready-made, semi-ready, fast-consumed processed foods. Increased consumption of refined grains and refined sugar, reduced consumption of legumes and vegetables, processing methods have increased the amount of refined carbohydrates in the daily diet. Fructose-rich corn syrup has become widely used in food and beverages. Salt consumption, animal protein and fat, vegetable oil, trans fat and margarine consumption increased with ready and semi-ready foods. Calorie and fat restriction has an transfer positive effect on extending life. Liquid calories can not satisfy the feeling of hunger, as they do not contain fiber. Juices and sugary drinks are among the important causes of obesity. The thicker your waist and neck, the shorter your life span.

.
ANIMALS ARE ALSO GETTING FAT

As of 2021, 2.1 million people are overweight and 800 million people are obese. Animals that breathe the same air as us, drink the same water, and are fed processed foods similar to the foods we eat are also getting fatter and fatter.

.
HOW DOES HE DEAL?

In the analysis of scientific studies on obesity and diet, it was shown that plant-based nutrition is the most effective method of losing weight. A diet based on processed foods and a sedentary lifestyle are the worst enemies of health. Significant changes in physical exercise and eating habits reduce the occurrence of chronic diseases such as diabetes caused by obesity and obesity by 60 percent.
