HOW MUCH DOES HOUSEHOLD ELECTRIC COST IN TURKEY?

Turkey Energy’s consumption statistics showed that the monthly reflection on the bill varies between 13 and 51 TL according to the frequency of use of electronic devices. It costs TL 24 to keep the TV on for 10 hours every day, and TL 51 per month to use the kettle for 1 hour every day.

Electricity devices, which are preferred seasonally in Turkish households, play a role in increasing consumption. Citizens who increase the use of cooling systems due to extreme temperature, rising energy consumption is also affecting their bills in Turkey.

According to the consumption statistics prepared by TUIK, electricity expenditures caused by the use of air conditioning, one of the most consuming devices, can bring an additional load of up to 200 TL per household in Turkey per month.

It was stated that running air conditioners in dwellings for 5 hours a day for 1 month led to an increase in consumption of about 60 percent. A Class A air conditioner can carry an additional load of up to 200 TL per month on average with five hours of use. When A++ + energy class air conditioner is preferred, this amount falls to 90 TL.

.
MONTHLY REFLECTION OF DEVICES ON THE BILL 13-51 TL

The reflection of frequently preferred devices in Turkey homes during the day on the bill varies between TL 13 and TL 51. Some of the devices that consume the most are reflected in bills as follows:

• If the kettle known as ”Kettle” is used for 1 hour every day of the week, the monthly reflection on the bill is 51 TL.

• If two people in the house use the computer for 8 hours every day, the effect of this on the bill was calculated as 41 TL.

* When the oven uses 3 times a week, 1.5 hours a day, the reflection on the monthly bill is 41 TL.

* Running the Iron 3 times a week for 26 TL,

* Keeping the TV on for 10 hours a day costs TL 24,

* Vacuum cleaner 4 times a Week, 1 hour a day to use 22 TL,

* Using the washing machine 3 times a week for 2 hours a day for 17 TL,

* Using the tumble dryer for the same time for 22 TL,

* Using the freezer 24 hours 7 days a week for 13 TL,

* Using the refrigerator 24 hours every day of the week costs 27 TL per month.

WASHING LAUNDRY AT 30-40 DEGREES IS MORE ECONOMICAL

In the statistics prepared by TUIK, it was stated that choosing an A+++ energy class air conditioner with BTU capacity appropriate to the ambient size, paying attention to the ambient temperature and keeping the air conditioner at constant degrees saves money.” Keeping air conditioners at a temperature of 24 degrees is enough for comfortable cooling, “the study said,” for each additional degree of cooling that will be done below this value, electricity consumption increases by 6-7 percent.”

Frequent opening of the refrigerator lid on days when the temperature is high also causes a lot of energy consumption and is directly reflected in the electricity bill…

“Leaving a distance of at least 10 cm between the wall behind the refrigerator increases the efficiency of the coolers, as airflow decays. Along with the need for frequent changing of clothes on hot days, the use of washing machines also increased. Instead of washing clothes at high degrees, washing them at 30-40 degrees or in a short program with cold water saves on bills.”
