NO LONGER TOOTHLESS, A DENTAL PROSTHESIS IS INSTALLED ON THE SAME DAY

Being toothless affects a person as much as losing an organ. Now Antalya dentist patients do not remain toothless during treatment, the prosthesis is fixed on the day the implant is inserted.

The dialogue between the dentist and his patient before starting treatment is usually the same: “Dear doctor; so will I go toothless, will you make me temporary teeth, how will I eat, I can’t go out in people like this, come on, stop feeding I’m a very social person, I have meetings…” In this dialogue, everyone is right; the patient is according to himself, and the physician is according to himself… Getting ahead of these dialogues will be possible with better oral care and dentist control.

Loss is one of the inevitable aspects of life. Especially when a person loses something that belongs to him, especially when it is an organ in his body, trauma is inevitable.

Like organs (although they don’t look that dramatic), tooth loss can be traumatic enough to change a person’s life pattern.

For example, when a person who has lost all his teeth is sentenced to use a palate prosthesis, it takes time for him to adapt to this situation.

A person may feel anxiety, this can lead to depression. Especially people who have emotional problems before adapt to this situation much more difficult. Even the gag reflex that a person gives when using a prosthesis can be an emotional reaction to tooth loss. The muscle function can be significantly impaired, which can lead to poor coordination, inability to perform jaw movements correctly.

.
TOOTH LOSS CAUSES ANXIETY AND STRESS

Everyone is somewhat worried about the dentist’s examination. But the increase in the size of anxiety prevents both treatment and makes the patient unhappy. Anxiety towards the dentist is caused by financial worries, fear of pain, thinking about the possibility of not achieving the desired result, and often previous bad experiences.

It is the response to the current or foreseen danger. It often occurs in people who have previously had traumatic experiences, negative memories of the situation.

Fear is a reaction to a known danger. Patients are often nervous, anxious, suspicious, or even terrified.

It is not surprising that patients consider tooth loss terrible and frightening. A nervous patient can also cause the dentist to be nervous. The dentist must show patience and a sense of confidence.

It will be difficult to predict the effects of this loss on the patient, especially when the patient will lose their teeth.

Sometimes patients may think of the denture as aging, a change in appearance, a loss of productivity, and a general decrease in their value as an individual.

.
IT AFFECTS THE MOOD

Some researchers have come to the conclusion that the mood of the person is important in the patient’s acceptance of the nickname.

Normal patients respond to fear and anxiety on three levels. The first level is the level of mental response. This is the highest level. The patient is willing to accept and face the difficulties in order to achieve certain results and benefits.

The second level of the provided provision is of two types: physiological and psychological.

It can be expressed in various degrees of emerging resistance and hostility, which leads to quarrels. The third level of response is the lowest level. These patients only look at what they want; they accept what is pleasant, they reject what is not.

Such patients are not too worried about the outcome or nature of the treatment. They do not accept what is comfortable and accept others.

The refusal of patients with emotional problems to accept the tooth may be due to unrelated reasons.

The adaptation to the denture at the next stage is significantly influenced by the person’s ability to accept the state of toothlessness.

It is believed that being satisfied with the best denture in Turkey is primarily about personality.

But it is also important that the tooth is made and applied correctly in a technical sense.

At this stage, psychological factors are much more important in accepting the denture and adapting to the denture than the anatomical condition of the mouth and the quality of the prosthesis made. It is much more important to talk to patients before the construction of prostheses and find out what they want, what they think. If the patient’s expectations are beyond the limits of possibility and are too high, this will also cause complex and inconsistent reactions and dissatisfaction. The right thing to do at this stage is to talk to the patient and talk about realistic results, to raise their expectations to the right levels.

.
A DENTAL PROSTHESIS IS ALSO PERFORMED ON THE SAME DAY

Dental implants are the most effective solution for patients who have difficulties due to lost teeth. Dental implants give an image like your own natural teeth and perform their functions in this way.

The All On Four technique is a technique that allows the fixation of a dental prosthesis on the same day on four dental implants placed at certain angles in completely toothless patients. Patients who are scheduled for All On Four treatment should first undergo a clinical and radiological examination. Measurements are made on computed tomography (CT) and an appropriate planning is made for the patient. This treatment consists of two stages, namely surgery and dental prosthetics procedures. After four dental implants are placed in the patient as planned on the day of treatment, the temporary dental prosthesis is fixed on the dental implants on the same day.

After three months, the patient is given permanent dental prostheses.

.
NO SURGICAL PROCEDURE IS REQUIRED, THE COST IS REDUCED

What are the advantages of the All On Four technique?

It offers full toothless patients the opportunity to have a fixed dental prosthesis with a single surgical procedure on the same day.

The operation is easier because there is no advanced surgical procedure such as sinus lifting (sinus lift surgery), bone addition.

The duration of dental implant surgery is quite short.

Its cost is even lower due to the fact that the number of dental implants used is reduced and does not require additional surgical procedures.

Personalized planning, aesthetic appearance and smile aesthetics are provided.

Easy to clean and maintain.

It is suitable for patients who cannot use movable dental prostheses.

The design is different compared to the palate dental prosthesis (full tooth prosthesis). It is easier to use because it does not cover the palate of the patient.

Since the number of treatment sessions is small, it is suitable for patients residing outside the city or country.

Is it a reliable technique?

The All On Four technique (4 implant technique) is a technique that has been successfully applied in dentistry for more than 15 years. This technique provides patients with a reliable, fast and low-cost treatment option in dentistry.

Although it requires extra cost, technology and skills, it is often used by physicians working in this field and it seems that it provides a very high success rate.

.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TRADITIONAL METHOD AND THE ALL ON FOUR TECHNIQUE

All On Four Techniques

For a fixed bridge, only four implants are required.

It is usually a cheaper and more effective solution.

Most often, treatment can be performed without applying a bone graft.

Implants and teeth can be installed on a single appointment.

The Traditional Method

Six to eight implants are required for a fixed treatment.

It is even more costly, as it requires more implants, surgical procedures and appointments.

A bone graft is usually needed and the treatment period is longer.

It requires more than one appointment, a temporary prosthesis should not be installed until the permanent one.

It requires a six- to eight-month recovery phase.
