IS AN IMPLANT TREATMENT IN TURKEY SUITABLE FOR ME?

The most common question asked to our Specialist dentists in Istanbul Turkey is ‘Is the implant a suitable treatment method for me’ says Turkey Medicals is happening. “Currently, the most ideal treatment method that does not damage neighboring teeth is an implant.”

Nowadays, it is no longer so difficult to restore lost teeth. Gone are the days when you lost your back teeth, you couldn’t get a bridge because there was no support, you had to use palate prostheses. It is not among the inevitable consequences that neighboring teeth are cut and damaged to make a bridge when a single tooth is lost, or that the bone in the area of the lost tooth decays, causing the gum and bone to collapse over time. So how much do you know about dental implants? What materials are these implants made of? In what cases is it applied? What kind of contributions has today’s technology made to implants?  We will try to address and explain all the questions that come from you and that are stuck in your head one-by-one…

What is a dental implant?

An ‘artificial tooth root’ is an artificial tooth root placed in the jawbone to replace missing teeth or teeth in order to achieve the function of a natural tooth. After the implant is placed in the jaw, crowns, bridges, movable or fixed prostheses can be made on it according to the need. Thus, both an aesthetic appearance is created and the implant provides the function of the natural tooth. Although there are different types of implants available today, the most common form is the one in the form of a ‘screw’.

.
THE NATURE OF THE BONE IS VERY IMPORTANT

Is my oral health suitable for the implant?

There are some important elements that are necessary for implant treatment. The most important of these is a sufficient amount and density of bone. Because implants have a certain height and width. The nature of the bone is also an important condition for successful implant treatment. Another important aspect is that the gums are healthy. Just as your natural teeth are affected by oral health, this also applies to implants. An adequate and qualified amount of bone and healthy gums affect the success of the implant.

Does the implant protect the jawbone and prevent it from melting?

Teeth are the organs that feed the jawbone. If the tooth is missing, the jawbone loses its support, and the pressure of the teeth on the jawbone during chewing disappears. This causes bone resorption in the area of the missing tooth. Since the classic type of prosthesis does not replace the tooth root, bone resorption continues in this case. Implants support the jawbone, such as the roots of the tooth, and transmit the pressure created on the tooth to the jawbone. Because implants are structures that mimic the root of the tooth, bone and surrounding tissues surround the implant as it grasps the natural root of the tooth. In this way, bone resorption is prevented.

What exactly does ‘immediate loading’ mean?

The normal plan for implant-supported teeth includes a healing process after the implants are placed without loading on them. In this procedure, the toothless cavity is temporarily closed with a conventional prosthesis, which is normally attached to neighboring teeth. However, new implant systems and methods are used in immediate installation that allow the prosthesis and temporary prosthesis to be fixed to the implants in the same session under special conditions. The feasibility of immediate installation for you will depend on the condition of the jawbone and the location of the implants. Ask your dentist about the options.

Is general anesthesia really not necessary for implant placement?

No, local anesthetics can completely block any pain. When your dentist prepares the implant site on the bone and places the implant, you feel a vibration and slight pressure, but you don’t feel pain. For most patients, this procedure feels like a normal caries treatment performed under local anesthesia. However, if you still want to sleep during treatment, your dentist can explain the features of general anesthesia.

.
ALL IS RESISTANT TO TOOTH ROOT

Am I going to be toothless during the treatment and recovery process?

No, if you are using a movable prosthesis before treatment, a simple arrangement will usually be required to continue using this prosthesis. If you do not have a movable prosthesis that you have used before, the gap can still be closed with a temporary prosthesis.

How long does an implant last?

A properly placed quality implant after the healing stage will be more resistant to many factors than a natural tooth root. A titanium implant with the correct prosthetic installation will not break. It is also resistant to caries. Constant oral care will ensure that your gums and implant site remain healthy. With proper care, your implants can last a lifetime.

.
NO NEED TO TAKE IT OFF AT NIGHTS

Do I need to remove the implant-supported prosthesis at night?

A conventional prosthesis should be removed at night, because it can dislodge during sleep and clog the digestive or respiratory tract. An implant-supported prosthesis is fixed in place and can be left in place at night without any danger.

Can an implant-supported prosthesis be renewed?

Yes, the prosthesis can always be renewed or modified.

What happens if one of my own teeth, which was added to my prosthesis as a support, is lost?

Healthy, natural and can be easily replaced with an implant denture is usually an all like a tooth are made of resin.

Can I chew normally with an implant-supported prosthesis?

Whether you have an implant-supported crown or a prosthesis, you will be able to chew and laugh as you would with your own teeth. You can feel extremely safe because your prosthesis will hold tightly to your implants.

.
IN WHAT CASES CAN DENTAL IMPLANTS BE USED?

If you are complaining about one or more of the following problems, you can get rid of all these problems thanks to the implant:

If you have difficulty getting a taste with prostheses covering your palate,

If you often drop and break your prostheses from your hands while washing,

If the movable prostheses you use disrupt your speech,

If food waste escapes under the prostheses while eating,

If you can’t eat everything you want because of your teeth,

If the teeth under the bridge you are using are causing pain,

If your mobile dentures are bumping in another part of your mouth every day,

If you can’t use your lower-upper prostheses without glue.
