WHO IS TREATED FOR CROOKED LEGS?

Crooked leg surgery is the surgical methods we use in our patients who have more than normal distance between the knee and the ankle. Usually, the combined use of leg prostheses and fat injections gives the most natural results. Turkey Medicals hospital Istanbul Specialist in Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Op. Dr. he gave information about the subject.

Alternative methods

Although filler injections with water-based fillers are shown as an alternative by some circles, it is a method that is never used by us.

This is due to the fact that they are easily displaced. This leads to the formation of serious asymmetric images. Healthy methods are prosthetics and fat injections.

Treatment of crooked legs before surgery

It is decided by talking with our patients how and in what size a prosthesis should be used after the best measurements and examinations performed before surgery.

Here, besides my experience, the patient’s expectations are extremely important.

It is necessary to plan at what level the prosthesis will be placed (intramuscularly, under the muscle sheath, under the skin). If an oil injection is also to be performed, the zones are marked.
.

Water, food and cigarettes should not be used for 6 hours before surgery. At the time of surgery, the patient is lowered into the operating room with the comfort provided by the drug made in his bed and the operation is completed under general anesthesia.

Crooked leg treatment surgery technique

The operation is started with an incision to be made behind the knee. In addition to the prosthesis that has been agreed during the operation, one large and one small sizes are also kept in the operating room.

By placing the trial lengths of these prostheses, it is clear which result can be achieved with which expected result. This is how the final decision will be made in the operating room.

As a result, a special prosthesis is opened and placed on the patient. After wearing varicose veins socks, our patients are woken up and taken to their rooms accompanied by painkillers. Drains are not used in these surgeries.

Treatment of crooked legs after surgery

It is possible to be discharged from the hospital 1 day after the operation. Pain after surgery can be stopped with the help of painkillers. Varicose stockings that are worn during the termination of surgery should be used for 1 month.

The incision made behind the knee leaves a faint line-shaped scar around 3-4 cm. This trail disappears over the years.

Pain can be felt when walking for about 10 days, but this pain does not interfere with walking. Nevertheless, during the first 10 days it will be necessary to keep the feet high at rest.

It will not need to be removed, since the seams are embedded. As a result, at the end of an easy process, the desired result is achieved.
