WHY IS BREAST HEALTH IMPORTANT IN THE PANDEMIC?

A general surgery specialist professor in Antalya Turkey, who said that many women delay breast control due to concern about contracting the virus in the pandemic Dr. “That’s why we’re unfortunately facing advanced stage patients,” she said.

At the Government research Hospital in Antalya studies show that the, Beast cancer is the most common and most common cause of death in women in the world and in our country. Experts note that in the last 20 years, the frequency of breast cancer in our country has increased 2-fold and it has also begun to appear at a young age. So, what are the ways to prevent breast cancer?

Turkey Medicals hospital member and our Specialist In General Surgery Professor Dr. suggestions:

Healthy lifestyle: avoiding obesity, exercising regularly, a balanced diet, stay away from alcohol for a long time, not to take hormone replacement therapy, long-term use of birth control pills reduces the risk of breast cancer by 50 percent. Creating a regular and adequate sleep pattern, sleeping in a dark environment, as with many tumors, plays a protective role in breast cancer. The hormone melatonin, secreted at night, regenerates cells, regulates the immune system, adjusts the body’s biological rhythm, and has a suppressive effect on breast cancer with its anti-oxidant properties.

Delay of the first menstruation: today, the age of first menstruation has decreased to 10-12 as a result of environmental factors, different stimuli and improper nutrition. A balanced diet of children, not getting fat, regularly starting sports at a very young age allows you to delay the first menstrual age.

Giving birth before the age of 30: giving birth before the age of 30 reduces the risk of breast cancer. As birth age is delayed, it also increases the risk of breast cancer.

Exercise: studies have shown that exercising regularly for 7 hours a week (10-15 thousand steps a day) reduces the risk of breast cancer by 25-30 percent.

Not gaining weight: obesity during menopause increases the risk of breast cancer. Keeping the body-mass index around 25 is a protective element in breast cancer, especially in menopausal women.

Breast feeding: studies show that breastfeeding for more than 12 months in total reduces the risk of breast cancer.

DON’T BE LATE STAY RATHER STAY HEALTHY IN TURKEY

The chances of success in treating breast cancer are directly related to how early the cancer is caught. A late diagnosis will lead to greater breast surgery, which will put the patient in a more difficult process. In a pandemic, we often witness that many women delay breast checks due to concern for the corona, and therefore delay in the diagnosis of breast cancer. Unfortunately, patients who had control time and complaints for fear of contracting the virus avoided going to the hospital. So seeing advanced patients admitted to the hospital with growing masses, tumors in the skin wound and growth in the armpit lymph nodes was one of the sad consequences of the pandemic. Therefore, it is vital not to disrupt the controls by taking the necessary measures whether, while you are living in Turkey or on longer ‘ relatives meetings ‘ and holiday stay periods!
