WHAT DO THE PERSISTENT TINGLING IN YOUR LEGS INDICATE?

If you have complaints such as unbearable pain coming down from your waist to your knee, tingling in your legs, difficulty moving, the cause may be sciatic pain. Sciatica pain, also popularly called nerve rheumatism, occurs in sciatica, the largest nerve of the body, and causes severe pain if it is compressed. Turkey Medicals member and Turkish Neurosurgery Specialist Prof. Dr. told us what to know about sciatica pain and treatment methods.

.
SCIATICA PAIN CAN OCCUR DUE TO MANY CAUSES

Sciatica is the largest nerve that begins at the ends of the spinal cord and covers the entire body up to the lower joints of the hip. The pain that occurs in these nerves is also called sciatic pain. Sciatic pain occurs when lumbar disc herniation in the lumbar region shifts as a result of environmental factors and puts pressure on the sciatic nerve.

In addition, excessive weight gain during pregnancy, infection of the spine, bacteria, diabetes, hernia, trauma, scoliosis, sciatica pain reasons, such as sudden severe internal bleeding or during birth may result in the formation of bucking with incorrect posture.

.
BEWARE OF THESE SYMPTOMS, IT CAN BE A HARBINGER OF THE DISEASE!

– Its main symptom is a shooting pain along sciatic nerve down lower back, hip and back of both legs,
– Difficulty sitting, walking and severe pain extending from hip to heel,
– Pain that gets worse during movement,
– Loss of sensation in the leg area and tingling in the foot,
– A feeling like a needle sting in the feet and fingers,
– Urinary incontinence,
– Later stages include symptoms such as loss of movement and severe neck pain.

.
EXCESSIVE WEIGHT GAIN CAN ALSO BE A TRIGGER

Age-related hernia, bone problems and spine changes in sciatica pain are among the risk factors for sciatica. At the same time, weight gain causes the body to strain itself and create a serious amount of pressure on the spine. Obesity is one of the diseases at risk of sciatica and causes such changes in the spinal cord, causing sciatica pain.

In addition, occupational diseases can also trigger these pains. Especially people who do desk work or people who constantly carry heavy loads are in the risk group. In addition, diseases that cause nerve damage, such as diabetes, and most importantly, inactivity are among the main risk factors that trigger sciatic pain.

.
IN CASE THE DECISIVE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF THE PATIENT’S HISTORY

Sciatic pain is usually diagnosed by taking the patient’s history and physical examination. It is very important for diagnosis that the patient can correctly identify pain. At this time, it is evaluated according to the distribution of pain. A physical examination is then performed depending on neurological tests. Mostly straight leg lifting test is applied. People with this disease also experience much less low back pain than leg pain. Diagnostic methods such as lumbar MRI, hip MRI, CT and EMG are very important in diagnosis in Turkey.

Sciatica is a disease that can be successfully treated today, its treatment varies depending on the level of the disease and the patient’s condition. Apart from drug treatments such as muscle relaxants, NSAID group drugs, antidepressants, especially physical therapy, the disease can be treated by massage, yoga, acupuncture and surgical methods Nov.

According to the patient’s condition, the most appropriate treatment is selected, but if there is a problem with leg weakness, bowel or bladder, it can be referred to surgery. Along with all these methods, providing information correctly, such as how the patient will behave, what exercises he will do, or what movements he should avoid, is very important in the treatment process.
