SHOWCASE DISEASE CAN BE FATAL

Turkish Specialist in Cardiovascular Surgery Assoc. Dr. “If you pretend to look somewhere and need to rest because of the pain that occurs in your legs while walking, this problem may be caused by ‘showcase disease’ known as the peripheral vascular disease. Be sure to consult a doctor in Turkey,” he said.

When you walk about 200-300 meters along the road, pain begins in your legs, and if this stops you, pay attention! If the pain goes away after a short break, but the pain causes you to stop again after you start walking again, the cause may be showcase disease. Stating that the condition referred to by this name should not be neglected because patients pretend to look at the window during breaks and rest.

Turkey Medicals member and hospital clinic department Antalya Cardiovascular Surgery Specialist Associate Doctor in this regard, said the following:

It leads to narrowing of the arteries

There is a perfect balance mechanism in all systems in the human body. While performing our daily activities, our cardiovascular system and skeletal and muscle systems work in a synchronized way. Thanks to this balance, our muscles are adequately supplied with blood and we can perform our daily muscle in a natural way.

In cases where the blood needed by the muscles cannot be met by the body’s vessels, muscle problems to arise. One of these problems is vitrine disease, which is described as ‘peripheral vascular disease’ in medical language. In vitrine disease, critical constrictions or blockages occur in the arteries that supply the legs.

Are more common in men

The risk of showcase disease increases after the age of 50. It is more common in males compared to females. Unfortunately, the risk of heart attack and death is higher in these cases. In particular, smokers, blood pressure sufferers, cholesterol sufferers, family history sufferers and diabetics are at risk in this respect.

Can it be prevented?

As a general rule, it is the best treatment method for all diseases to prevent the disease before the disease begins or to minimize the risk. Balanced and healthy diet, maintain proper weight, regular exercise, smoking, blood pressure, cholesterol and simple measures such as keeping them under control your blood sugar regularly and get the best results it is possible to maximize the quality of life.

How is it treated?

Vitrine disease can be diagnosed by a simple pulse examination. In patients who have been diagnosed, they should create a treatment plan with further examinations such as ultrasound, tomography, or classical angiography. According to the condition of the underlying vascular problems in vitrine disease, treatment with appropriate medication and exercise is sufficient in some patients. In patients with severe low quality of life, stent or balloon intervention may be recommended on the affected vein. In patient groups where stent and balloon procedures will not be possible, it is possible to bypass the blocked vein with open surgical methods.
.

As a result, each patient should be evaluated separately and the appropriate treatment method in Istanbul and Antalya Turkey should be selected accordingly.
