BEWARE OF FAKE AND ILLEGAL IMPLANTS

Those who will have implants should not think only price-oriented. He should investigate the quality of the implant, its brand, the experience of the doctor in Turkey who will make the implant and the technology used by the hospital dental center.

For a long time, questions have been coming from our readers about fake and illegal implants. There are more illegal implants in our country than fake implants.

Briefly, a fake implant is an imitation of all the parts used, including the outer container of the implant brand known in the market, and the exact same one is made and released to the market.

Just like with counterfeit money. In the old days, fake coins were very easily distinguishable by the hand. But it so happened that the technology makes it possible to distinguish between increases in the quality of printing and paper, using only technological devices.

.
THEY SUFFER IN VAIN

Innovations in cad-cam technology and the packaging have also made it difficult for fake implants to be understood by specialist physicians. The forgery became clear when complications arose after operation. And this leads to a waste of time and unnecessary suffering of patients.

After implant loss, serious losses may occur in the patient’s jaw bone.

In addition, difficulties during application, the fact that the screw is plentiful in its slot or does not fit at all can create many problems, such as breakage of the screws connecting the implant and the upper body. We should also be aware that people who commit such frauds are not considered to be able to stick to sterilization, as their complications related to infection can lead to quite serious problems.

It is an essential feature of the implant that will be placed in the bone. It should be kept sterile in a sterile form in the box for the time until the operation.

.
IT LEADS TO INFLAMMATION

Problems with sterilization can trigger serious and different infections and cause excessive bone resorption.

So how is this fake implant understood?

As we mentioned earlier, if the doctor in Turkey does not notice when opening the implant from the box during treatment, applying it to the jawbone, it is too late, and the patient manifests itself with constant pain, inflammation, and rapid bone loss.

A Turkish doctor whose jaw bone melted after a fake implant treatment in a recent media report after what happened to this colleague, many people became afraid of experiencing the same problems.

.
FIND OUT ITS BRAND AND GET THE BARCODE

An implant is a treatment method performed with a small surgical operation that performs aesthetic, phonetic and chewing functions that replace missing teeth.

Patients who are going to have an implant should first find out and research the brand of implant that will be made for them.

Already after the treatment, your doctor will give you a certificate and, if desired, the barcode number located in the back box.

These barcodes must be registered with the National Information Bank of the Ministry of Health. Our dentist colleagues are required to buy these implants from companies with a sales authorization issued by the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Agency.

.
1 MILLION OF THEM ARE FUGITIVES

Legal gaps, inadequate supervision; the favorite practice of recent years has made implant treatment risky. Illegal imports, which have become a favorite of suitcase traders, are putting the health of hundreds of thousands of people at risk. The financial size of the fake implant is over 2 billion USD.

So, more than 1 million illegal implants are in the mouths.

.
DOES BONE RESORPTION

Implant therapy, which has been applied in Turkey for the last 15 years, is preferred for permanent dental health. The biggest risk of these implants, which are produced under unsupervised conditions, is that they cause bone resorption. Implant, which is of far eastern origin without CE certificate, is brought to our country illegally.

These things can happen wherever there is competition. The main thing is to raise awareness of patients and not to give preference to these products as physicians with professional ethics.
.

The main thing is to buy world-known brands from a company that is an exclusive distributor from our own country.

.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN PRICE CAUSED BY ?

A cheap implant is not a fake.

When we say fake here, we are talking about the unauthorized implants that are not manufactured in the accordance with standards.

If you think of it as production, if you make it cheap, you sell it cheap.

To make it cheap means to use cheap raw materials. And of course, as with everything else, this creates a quality difference. Quality is of great importance in the products that you place as part of the body.

.
WHAT HARM DOES POOR-QUALITY IMPLANT MATERIAL HAVE?

The implant helps protect the jawbone. An implant applied with sterile new opening mills containing an appropriate proportion of titanium protects the jawbone and prevents bone resorption when a prosthesis is made with the appropriate distribution of force on it. In cases where imitation, fake, non-patented implants are not made of quality materials and sterilization techniques are ignored, the implants do not integrate with the jawbone and there are Decouples in their connections. As a result of the accumulation of bacteria, gum disease begins, and after bone resorption, implant loss occurs.

.
TECHNOLOGY AFFECTS THE PRICE

Using the implants of companies that have proven their quality in the world means that your need for parts will be met when you need them in the future, which is very important. When the parts of the implants that have been loosened in the upper screws made many years ago are not found, they stand as empty screws in the mouth of the patients. It is inevitable that implants that are not forced on will cause problems in the future. The price differences between implants are related to the price of the brand, The quality and the experience of the practitioner and the technology they use.

If we give an example of a simple car, then; we can’t say that you bought a car for 30.000 TL too cheap for someone who bought a car without knowing its brand, or that you paid a lot of money for someone who bought a car for 600.000 TL without knowing its brand, we can’t say that you were ripped off. Certificates can also ultimately be printed for each implant. It is also necessary to pay attention to these.
.

First of all, trust your Turkish doctor; research the implant brand very well and ask your doctor in Turkey everything you can think of.
