WENT FOR IRREGULAR PERIODS, COUPLE FOUND OUT SHE HAD A VAGINA
PD has been dealing with her erratic period for a long time. He lived once every two weeks when he had his period. He found out the reason for this when he went to a gynecologist when he was 18. It turns out Paige has two vaginas, two wombs and two cervices!
PD, who learned that she was born with two fully functioning reproductive systems called uterine Didelphis in Medicine, said: “I’ve always had a very irregular period of menstruation, but actually two cycles were opening and closing. Sometimes once a month, sometimes twice a month… I mean, I was just having my period a few weeks apart,” she says.
PD, who said she was always shocked when she told PEOPLE about her situation, said: “there are a lot of question marks in everyone’s minds. I think the biggest misconception is the anatomy of the two. People think they are two separate vaginas from the outside but that’s not the case, so I didn’t know I had two vaginas for 18 years,” she says.

SHE CAN BECOME PREGNANT FROM BOTH WOMBS
Experts say Paige’s condition means she has two menstrual periods and may be pregnant with one of her wombs while continuing to have her period with the other, and may even become pregnant with both wombs. Paige describes how her diagnosis was made: “my doctor didn’t tell me straight away but when I saw the look on her face I knew something was wrong. We had no idea of the seriousness of the situation. I was told there was probably extra tissue, and I was given a date to have an MRI.”
“When he first saw the results, the doctor held his breath and laughed out loud. And when he asked what happened, he said,’ You have two reproductive systems.’ I had no idea about the topic. At first I thought it was a little funny. Then I talked to my gynecologist about what it meant, and that’s when the truth hit me in the face,” he says.

SHE WAS DEVASTATED WHEN SHE GOT THE NEWS
After the diagnosis, PD’s irregular menstrual calendar was also found to be the cause, and she was able to regulate her menstrual cycle by starting taking birth control pills. But there was another problem. Her doctor told her that if she wanted to have children, she would probably have to use a surrogate. Because of his condition, his wombs are much smaller than usual, exposing him to a much greater risk of premature birth or miscarriage. Describing her devastation after receiving the news that it would be difficult for her to have children, PD said: “it was heartbreaking to hear that. I wanted a future where I had a big family,” he says.
After recovering from the initial shock, Paige says that she has found a community of people with the same situation as herself, including mothers, and adds:
“I entered a support group on social media with women like me who have been diagnosed with a double vagina. Many have one child out of every five miscarriages. It’s discouraging, but I prefer to look at the full part of the glass. The fact that these people have children, even if it’s hard, keeps me going.”

MOST CURIOUS ABOUT SEXUALITY
At the beginning of the most common questions Paige is asked about sexuality. “I have a boyfriend right now and everything is fine,” Paige says.
Pretty interesting story, huh? Some of us may be hearing about the condition of a double vagina or a double uterus for the first time. But the rate of uterine Didelphis cases is higher worldwide than we thought. Experts say that one in 2000-3000 people has this condition, and the incidence in Turkey is the same.
There is much to be wondered about uterine Didelphis, whose incidence is minimal.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO HAVE TWO VAGINAS?

So there are two uterus and two cervix. In most cases, there is a septum (curtain) that separates the vagina from the middle and gives an image almost like a double vagina. These ‘vaginas’ are usually narrower than a normal vagina,” she says.

In other words, the double vagina is not a disease, but a developmental defect. It’s a rare condition. YOU CAN’T TELL FROM THE OUTSIDE
When it’s called a double vagina, people think they’re two separate vaginas from the outside, the truth of the work “when viewed from the outside, two separate vaginal tissues are not visible. Diagnosis is made late, as it usually does not give clinically symptoms. It is possible to be diagnosed with a simple gynecological examination,” he says.
“The vagina is an organ of the internal genitalia, not the external genitalia,” he said. A double vagina can only be understood during a gynecological examination, usually in couples who apply because of the problem of entering into a relationship. Sometimes a double vagina can appear for the first time even in a normal vaginal birth,” he says.

MENSTRUAL BLEEDING MAY CONTINUE WHILE PREGNANT
“In the uterine didelphiste, there is usually no disruption in menstrual order, but pregnancy only settles in one uterus (there are cases where one baby is in one uterus, another baby is in another uterus), and menstruation can continue in the empty uterus. This, in turn, is an event called Top vision during pregnancy, even in these expectant mothers, menstruation is relatively common during menstrual periods throughout pregnancy.”

Normal sexual intercourse is possible after surgery, ” he says.
“Straining in a relationship is a common symptom, and this can also cause painful intercourse. There is often no problem with pleasure and orgasm if there is no problem with unification,” he says.

IT CAN BE OPERATED WITH A SIMPLE PROCEDURE
“The Uterus Didelphis already means a double uterus and often a double vagina, “he said,” although a double vagina alone is also possible, this is a less common condition. When we see a double vagina during the examination, we also do uterine Didelphis research.
