DOES GENITAL WARTS LEAD TO CANCER?
The HPV types responsible for genital warts are low-risk types and do not lead to cancer. But in addition to low-risk HPV, there may also be high-risk HPV. For this reason, it is essential to evaluate the presence of high-risk HPV with an HPV genotype test in patients with genital diseases.
