WHAT TO KNOW FOR GETTING AN IMPLANT IN TURKEY?

A dental implant is defined as an artificial tooth root surgically inserted into the jawbone. Dental prostheses made with implants are the type of prosthesis that best imitates natural teeth. Properly applied implants can remain in the mouth for many years or even life if they are regularly checked and cleaned daily. A specialist in oral, dental and Maxillofacial Surgery, doctor in Antalya head center, answered 6 questions that patients are most interested in before or after the implant process

1 -is the Implant a harmful treatment?

An implant made in accordance with its rules has no known harm.

2 -is the Implant a difficult process?

The Implant is a fairly easy application. A single implant operation takes about 15 minutes.

3 -is the swelling after the Implant normal?

In single implant operations, the swelling either does not occur at all or is very mild. In multiple implant operations, it is normal to have some swelling if tooth extraction is also performed in the same session. Appropriate medications and ice application allows the patient to survive this period with minimal swelling.

4 -causes numbness in the jaw after the Implant is made?
Before Implant surgery, it is necessary to examine the patient correctly, conduct radiological examinations, and determine the correct implant height by making bone measurements with tomography. After implant applications, which are performed through this process, there will be no lethargy.

But after implants made by inexperienced people without adequate examinations and measurements, drowsiness may occur due to damage to the lower jaw nerve.

5 -I had an Implant, can I smoke?

Smoking delays healing due to the chemicals it contains and increases the risk of bleeding after surgery. The first 48 hours are strictly non-smoking. In the following process, the patient is also advised not to smoke. Smoking is a major risk not only to the health of implants, but also to overall health. We hope that our patients will see the implant operation as a good opportunity to stop smoking.

6 -Why does the Implant play?

If an infection develops around the Implant, the implant may not be able to hold on to the bone, or the clinging implants may move in later periods. In order to prevent this, it is important that patients clean their teeth very well and keep their oral hygiene at a high level. Be sure to consult your dentist in Turkey for appointment if you feel that your implants are mobile.
