IN THE ‘THERE IS A LOT OF TOURISM HERE’ PANEL, IT IS THE TURN OF 2024 HEALTH TOURISM IN TURKEY

Antalya MedicalPark Private Hospital Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Dr. speaking at the panel called ‘There is a Lot of Tourism Here’, which brings together the tourism sector. Specialist Dr. said that Turkey has a significant potential in the international health tourism league.

Stating that Turkey is an important power in the region with its trained and experienced human resources, hospitals and technology in the health sector, Dr. said, “Health care in our country is provided at a high level, far above the world average through the public and private sectors, especially we are incomparably advanced with neighboring countries around us, We offer health care at almost the same levels as developed Western and European countries in more convenient, competitive and very economic conditions. Medical Park Antalya Hospital is a large-sized general hospital with 200 beds and has a clinic focused on Orthopedics, Brain and General Surgery. Our hospital is the clinic that is the first and only open MRI imaging center in Antalya. We have been using the Robotic Navigation system for Total Knee replacement surgeries in orthopedics branch in our hospital since 2017 for the first time in Antalya,” he said.

.
THE DEMAND FOR MEDICAL TOURISM IS GRADUALLY INCREASING

The popularity of Turkey medical tourism price-advantages is gradually increasing, and Antalya should get a share of this cake, said Dr. said, “The health tourism pie is very big. Because public and private health institutions in our country offer very high-quality service under very economic conditions. It is very clear that we are very competitive at this point. It may be only India that can compete with our country, but they definitely can’t compete with us in terms of quality. Currently, medicine in our country is doing very well in almost every field. We have a health system at a level that can compete with the most advanced countries in the West and Europe. The Ministry of Health has very successful studies on supporting The Turkish health tourism. This just needs to be supported by the state a little more in the promotion part.”

.
WE MUST CAPTURE THE REAL POTENTIAL

Emphasizing that health tourism is far from its real potential in Antalya, Dr. continued his words as follows: “Health tourism in Antalya is below the level that it should be. When we reach the level of Istanbul, its contribution to the tourism potential may increase much more. It has been said for years that Antalya tradesmen do not benefit enough from tourism due to the concept of all-inclusive tourism in Antalya hotels, and this is true, especially when health tourism is brought to the fore, tourist spending per capita reaches much higher levels, and especially it will contribute a lot to the benefit and occupancy rate of city hotels, and it will also make a very serious contribution to the spread of tourism over a 12-month period, not a 6-month summer tourism. In this regard, it is important for the city to cooperate with all actors and strengthen the infrastructure in the field of health tourism. From the port to the airport, the tender of which is planned to be held in the near future.
.

Turkey Medicals Co-ordinator, “We think it is very important that the stage rail system is designed and planned in such a way that it can be continued with suburban and high-speed trains as far as Kemer-Alanya beach holiday resorts. If this can be done, the share of Antalya from tourism will increase much more after 10 years. Currently, Turkey’s 5th big city, Antalya will become a sufficient benefit from regional tourism.” was said.
