BRUISES UNDER THE EYES

Our detention area is the region that attracts the most attention because it is a region located right in the middle of the face when we look at a person’s face. For this reason, there are applications to plastic surgeons at various ages due to the problems caused in this region. Most of the complaints are also about bruises under the eyes.

Turkey Medicals member Aesthetic surgery specialist Op. Dr. gave information about bruises under the eyes and their treatment.

What causes detention bruises?

Due to darkness or dimpling in the under-eye area at a young age, which are also called under-eye bruises, there are many people who apply. First, it is worth mentioning the causes of detention bruises.

The reasons that cause the most detention bruises are as follows:

– Genetic factors : this is the most common cause.

– Gaining and losing weight

– Very intensive work

– Little sleep

– Thinning of the skin of detention at a later age

– Problems caused by the displacement of tissues by gravity

What is done in the treatment?

There is no standard treatment for detention bruises. It is necessary to develop solutions specific to the cause and person. For example, if there is bagging or sagging of the lower lid skin, lower eyelid aesthetics are performed.

If there is a bruise due to dimpling, light filling should be the first choice. Under-eye light filling is a method that is applied in 15-20 minutes. It is effective for an average of 12-18 months. If dimpling is excessive, fat injection may be an important choice. It is a more invasive, more difficult procedure than light filling. But it is mostly a permanent procedure.

Depending on the situation, procedures that improve skin quality such as mesotherapy, chemical peeling, PRP can be added to the above treatments. But since the skin in this area is very thin, it needs to be applied very carefully.

It is also necessary to take into account the person’s age when recommending treatment methods. Since there is no sagging of the lower lid skin in young people, light filler or fat injection is sufficient. However, since sagging will start from the age of 40, it is necessary to evaluate the sagging issue very well first of all at these ages. If a light filling or fat injection is given to someone with lower eyelid drooping, an under-eye bag occurs there. If there is no sagging, it can be done.

Other causes and treatment of detention bruises

Sometimes anatomically, there are people in the detention area where the bone structure is behind and there is little adipose tissue. In this case, the under eye has always been such a collapse since the age of 20. The upper jaw is slightly further back. In such cases, what we do is fat injection. Thus, we camouflage the bone backwardation in that area. At the same time, we are eliminating the depression there.

What is an under-eye bag?

And then there’s the matter of the under-eye bag. Everyone who has a depression under their eye or has a slight streaking says that I have an under-eye bag, but not everyone has an under-eye bag. The biggest cause of under-eye bags is again genetics.

What we call a bag is this: there are 3 oil packages on the lower eyelid. One of these fat packages is located near the nose, one is in the middle, and one is near the temple area. Above this adipose tissue is a septum in the form of a curtain, above it we have muscle tissue. Even higher up there is very minimal subcutaneous adipose tissue and at the top there is also skin.

In people with detention bags, the curtains on top of these bags are structurally very thin. When this happens, the fat packages become visible from the outside. Here in these cases, even if the age is small, even if it is large, light filling does not provide a huge benefit. The bag should definitely be reduced.

If the thing that causes the baggy appearance is only the looseness of the curtain, then tightening that curtain and reducing those bags is enough.

Another reason is if the structures of the eye socket are in front due to the backwardness of the bone; then fat injection may also be an option.

As a result; Although the treatment of detention bruises may seem a little complicated, what I’m trying to explain is this: the same thing is not done to everyone for the treatment of the under-eye area, so it is absolutely necessary to be examined. In this way, the treatment of this region needs to be decided.
