HOW DOES JUICE AFFECT THE BODY?

Professor Doctor “Fruit is healthy, but the fruit juice is harmful to health, whether it is freshly squeezed or pasteurized industrial juice,” said.

Juices are considered the easiest way to meet the need for vitamins during the day. However, Turkish experts recommend consuming the fruit itself instead of juice for health.

Turkey Medicals member and Internal Medicine Specialist Prof. Dr. explained the reasons for this as follows:

.
BLOOD SUGAR RISES

Fruit is healthy, but fruit juice is harmful to health, whether it is freshly squeezed or pasteurized industrial juice. In addition to glucose, fructose is also present in fruits. Fructose, as is known, is a fruit sugar, and the glucose /fructose ratio in fruits varies according to the fruit and according to the maturation stage. Fruits also contain a large amount of fiber, phytonutrients, antioxidants, anticarcinogenic compounds, vitamins and minerals. The fibers allow fructose and glucose to be absorbed gradually, stabilizing blood sugar. Both in freshly squeezed and industrially prepared juices, the glycemic index is high, as there is no fiber, blood sugar rises rapidly, and then insulin secretion occurs. Insulin is a hormone that stores fat, it also lowers blood sugar, a feeling of hunger appears, and a person feels the need to eat again. The World Health Organization recommends that adults take no more than 30 grams of sugar supplements per day. This is equivalent to a cup of tea juice.

.
PAY ATTENTION TO ADDITIVES!

When the content is considered industrial fruit juices, water, sugar (sucrose, glucose syrup, fructose syrup), acid regulators (citric acid, malic acid), flavourings, colours (beta carotene), antioxidant (ascorbic acid), viscosity enhancers, such as sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate chemical compounds, it is seen that there are many. In such juices, the proportion of real fruit is usually extremely low.

.
BRAIN AND MENTAL HEALTH ARE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED IN CHILDREN

In scientific studies, it has been reported that the colorants and preservatives contained in ready-made juices that are often consumed can cause hyperactivity, concentration disorders, allergies, and cancer in children. The FDA requires that the daily intake of coloring additives be less than 30 mg. But packaged juices continue to exist as the most important source of such additives. There is a risk that juices that are indicated to be 100 percent juice will quickly raise blood sugar and increase the body’s toxin load due to the additives contained in them.

.
BLOOD FATS ALSO RISE

When the content is considered industrial fruit juices, water, sugar (sucrose, glucose syrup, fructose syrup), acid regulators (citric acid, malic acid), flavourings, colours (beta carotene), antioxidant (ascorbic acid), viscosity enhancers, such as sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate chemical compounds, it is seen that there are many. In such juices, the proportion of real fruit is usually extremely low.

.
IT CAUSES INSULIN RESISTANCE AND FATTY LIVER

Tap waters are mostly used for juice making. It is known that tap water contains many toxins, especially heavy metals. Even if it is 100 percent fruit, glucose and fructose found in fruit juice can reach the liver quickly when drinking a glass of fruit juice, causing fat accumulation in the liver, fatty liver, and insulin resistance. This effect is especially pronounced in people who are obese. Sugary drinks are also one of the most important causes of obesity.
