CURVED NOSE AESTHETICS

Turkey Medicals member and Specialist in Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Op. Doctor said, “Curvature of the nasal bone not only spoils the physical appearance, but also impairs the function of the nose. The most important causes of nasal congestion are cartilage or bone curvatures in the midline of the nose and permanent swelling of the nasal flesh. These structural disorders in the midline of the nose and in the concha directly block the breathing channel, disrupting the respiratory function of the nose.”

.
SYMPTOMS CAUSED BY NASAL BONE CURVATURE

Curvature of the nasal bone, nasal congestion, as well as the sinus that allows the sinuses to empty, can lead to repeated attacks of sinusitis, middle ear infection, and the destruction of the back wall of the throat due to constant oral breathing, that is, pharyngitis. These curvatures in the nose most often develop due to trauma. In addition to trauma, congenital or structural disorders can also occur. Surgical techniques are the treatment of these curvatures that do not benefit from any drug treatment. In addition, in some cases, bone curvatures in the nose and swelling of the nasal flesh can be observed simultaneously. In this case, especially when the nose is curved to one side, the nasal flesh on the other side, which we call the concha, swells. In some cases, this congestion changes in the nostrils, or even from time to time, a condition of congestion in both nostrils can occur. Both complaints from nose surgery can be easily resolved during the same operation.

.
HOW IS THE CURVED NOSE AESTHETIC PERFORMED?

The procedure to be performed in the curvature of the nasal bone is rhinoplasty surgery. This operation can be performed by applying local or general anesthesia. The duration of the operation is on average 1.5 hours, with the exception of anesthesia. Although it depends on the surgeon’s preference, many surgeons perform surgery with a closed technique today. That is, surgical incisions are made through the nostrils. For Antalya nasal surgery with bone curvature, the bones that block the airway are removed, the cartilage curvatures are corrected and put back in place. If there is swelling associated with bone in the area of the nasal gums, this condition is also corrected in the same session. Currently, the use of a nasal tampon after surgery is generally not preferred, there are a wide variety of types of tampons that we call splints. Some surgeons prefer to use mostly air duct silicone tampons. Since the patient can breathe comfortably with these silicone tampons, the recovery period after surgery is much more comfortable. The silicone substance also facilitates the stage of taking tampons. As a result of this operation, there are no skin incisions, i.e. scars, on the external structure of the nose. Bruises or swelling in custody also usually do not occur.

It is not necessary to stay in the Turkish hospital after operation, splints are removed 2-3 days after the operation. The patient recovers greatly on the seventh day. Bone curvature of the nose, which greatly reduces the quality of life, can be solved with a simple operation, so that the patient can enjoy comfortable breathing and have a beautiful nose shape.
