COUNTRIES MOST AFFECTED BY CLIMATE CHANGE IDENTIFIED

Singapore, India and China are among the 10 countries most decimated by climate change due to toxic pollution, according to a newly published study. Experts are urging countries to take action as soon as possible.

A new analysis of publicly available data sets from 176 countries has revealed a significant link between climate change and the toxic pollution effect in countries decidedly around the world. Researchers from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana found that a country would also be affected by global warming if it was at risk of toxic air pollution.

In addition, the study also found that one-third of countries at high risk of toxic air pollution represent two-thirds of the world’s population. That means billions of people are at risk.

SINGAPORE… RWANDA, AND CHINA

Singapore, Rwanda and China are among the countries most at risk, while these countries need to implement tougher environmental policies to decimate the risk.

Researchers have produced a list of the top ten countries most affected by climate change. Singapore, Rwanda and China, as well as India, the Solomon Islands, Bhutan, Botswana, Georgia, the Republic of Korea and Thailand, were among those decrying the risk of climate change.

From the authors of the research to understand the magnitude and distribution of the risk climate change and pollution separately, many studies done previously, he said: “the spatial distribution of the environmental risk of these two types is similar, we wanted to know whether, and unfortunately, our results are in general says that they are.”

Climate change and toxic pollution interact, creating even worse problems such as rising temperatures, increasing temperature-related disease and death rates.

Previous research had also shown that low-income countries face higher risks from toxic pollution and climate change than high-income countries.
