In case the leg is disproportionately thin with the upper part of the body, leg aesthetics is applied by placing a silicone prosthesis (calf implant) or fat tissue injection. It is a plastic surgery that increases the fullness of the legs and corrects their shape. If there is a leg bone curvature, orthopedic treatment may be required.

Leg prostheses, like breast prostheses, are FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved products that contain silicone gel in a silicone case and do not harm the body. In the studies conducted, it has been shown that these prostheses do not lead to cancer or other diseases.

Although leg aesthetics is a relatively simple and reliable procedure, as with any surgical procedure, there is a possibility of surgical risks and special complications specific to this aesthetic surgery. Although these problems are so rare that they can be ignored, it is useful to consider.

The most common among the complications is the discomfort caused by the pressure of the placed silicone prosthesis on the surrounding structures. Under normal conditions, it disappears with the relaxation of the skin within a few weeks. However, some patients with excessive skin tension may not get used to the prostheses and may want to be removed at an early stage.

After each surgical procedure, some blood leakage at the surgical site is normal. However, excessive blood leakage following leg aesthetics may cause pain with excessive swelling at the surgical site. When this condition becomes too much for the patient to bear, a separate small intervention may be required.

Although rare, infection may develop around the placed prosthesis in some patients. Although this can occur at any time, it is usually seen within the first week after leg aesthetics. In some cases that cannot be controlled by medical treatment, it may be necessary to remove the silicone prosthesis and place a new prosthesis after the infection has regressed.

The prosthetic leg can be punctured and the material inside it can leak into the leg. A puncture can only happen with a very severe trauma or blow from the outside. Although the silicone sleeve is pierced in the prosthesis filled with the punctured silicone gel, if the capsule formed around the leg prosthesis is not damaged, there may not be any changes in the leg. But if the capsule is damaged along with the silicone case, the silicone gel will spread to the surrounding tissues depending on the pressure from the outside. In both types of puncture types, an operation should be performed that requires removing the punctured prosthesis, cleaning the damage caused in the environment and inserting a new prosthesis.

At the first examination, the candidate’s general health condition is evaluated, leg volume and skin quality are examined. Taking into account the candidate’s expectation of change, it is revealed what kind of plastic surgery is needed. Smoking, whether he is taking any medication or treatment is definitely questioned. Again, at this time, the anesthesia to be used in the operation, the hospital where it will be performed and its cost are explained. As in many parts of the world, leg aesthetics are not covered by social security institutions in our country.

For the Leg aesthetics takes about 1-2 hours. The procedure is performed with a needle from the waist under regional anesthesia or under general anesthesia. An incision up to 4 cm where the prosthesis will be placed is placed in the space behind the knee. By entering through this decoupled incision, a pocket is created where the skin and leg Novella prosthesis can enter. After that, the preferred prosthesis is placed in this prepared pocket and the incisions are closed with aesthetic stitches and covered with dressing. You can go home 5-6 hours after the operation, or you can spend the first evening in the hospital in Turkey.

Most of the discomfort felt after surgery in Turkey will be relieved with oral pain medication. The recovery depends on the candidate’s previous status. It is recommended to rest at home for about a week, and then use printed varicose veins socks for several weeks in the next period.

Turkey Medicals Co-ordinator, “Fat injection can also be applied to relieve leg thinness. The application of a fat or tissue cocktail taken from the person’s own gives face-pleasing results as a simple plastic surgery operation. In order for the procedure to be successful, the tissue injection may need to be repeated for 2-3 sessions, because 50-70% of the given adipose tissue melts during first few weeks. According to the remaining amount, permanent fullness can be achieved by repeated injection.” was said.

Stay with love.
