Aesthetics of Temple Filling

Many of the changes of aging can be understood by observing changes in facial volume. Some faces, although uneven from top to bottom, gain weight. Some people get weaker as they get older. The temples are located on both sides of the face and eyes. The tip of the eyebrows ends in front of the temples, and the upper edge centers your forehead. During the aging process, we all lose volume from our temples. The hollowing out of the temples is a natural part of the aging process. Soft tissue and bone melt, muscle and fascia (your connective tissues) change. This leads to less structural support in the temple area, which results in folds, wrinkles and loss of volume.

Aesthetic treatment of the temples is difficult because the tissue in this area is thin and tends to show unevenness after injection. Many non-surgical applications, such as fat injection or hyaluronic acid filling material, can be used for hollow temples.

Many dermal fillers are made from a clean gel, which is composed of a substance naturally found on the skin. Dermal fillers vary in viscosity, thickness and longevity. It is preferable to use thinner fillers in areas where the thinness and smoothness of your skin is critical, such as your eye area and temple area. Dermal filler treatment for the temples can be performed by injection technique using fine-tipped needles.

How is the healing process?

In the treatment of temple filling, it is aimed to create the smallest possible amount of bruising. Fine-tipped needles are used for this. Since filler injections are spread superficially, the risk of contact with veins or artery walls is low. Most dermal fillers are applied with a local anesthetic, which will significantly reduce the risk of pain during your temple filler procedure. This local anesthesia numbs the temple area, so that minimal discomfort is felt during the injection of the filler. After the temple filling, the effects are immediately obvious. If there is any swelling, it will be resolved within 2-3 days after the temple filling.

The lifetime of the temple filling application varies depending on age, the amount of dermal filler used, the placement of the dermal filler and the type of dermal filler product used. For most patients, results can take up to 12 months.

After applying a filler injection to the temples, we recommend using an eye serum and sun protection to moisturize.

Stay with love.
