9 OUT OF EVERY 10 PEOPLE HAVE GUM PROBLEMS

Bacterial plaque that accumulates around the teeth and inflammation that develops against the harmful products of these bacteria cause gum disease. 9 out of every 10 people have gum problems. A bruise that we do not care about can cause stomach, kidney and liver, cardiovascular diseases, even cancer.

Turkey Medicals Dentistry Co-ordinator – we have compiled questions related to the topic of gum problems, which are especially often asked.

What is the All on-four technique?

It is essentially a treatment procedure that involves replacing all missing teeth in one jaw using only 4 implants. This procedure is especially useful in patients who have lost a lot of bone in the back areas of the mouth. In patients who have been toothless for many years, there is bone resorption in the upper jaw and lower jaw. In the upper jaw, it becomes difficult to implant, especially because the air spaces that we call the maxillary sinus sag downward, and in the lower jaw, the nerve that feeds our jaw rises to the surface due to bone resorption. In such cases, it is a screw-fixed prosthesis method that is performed with 4 on lower jaw and 4 on upper jaw. The patient can not remove the prosthesis on his own, if necessary, it is removed by the attending physician with special screwdrivers for cleaning, maintenance or repair.

IT CAN MAKE BONE RESORPTION

How does gum disease occur?

Bacterial plaque that accumulates around the teeth and inflammation that develops against the harmful products of these bacteria cause gum disease. Gum disease can lead to melts in the bone surrounding the tooth and tooth loss in the advanced stages. The only way to protect yourself from these diseases is proper oral care and regular dentist check-ups.

Is the process of teeth whitening and teeth cleaning the same?

Teeth whitening and dental calculus cleaning are not the same process as removing stains from the surface of the teeth. Stains on the surface of the tooth are discolorations on the outer layer of the tooth. It must be done by mechanical cleaning and necessarily before teeth whitening. However, teeth whitening does not harm both the living part of the tooth and its hard tissue, but it must be done by experienced physicians and with quality materials.

.
GIVE ATTENTION TO ORAL HEALTH

What is the rate of caries and gum problems worldwide and what can they cause?

9 out of every 10 people have gum problems. A bruise that we do not care about can cause stomach, kidney and liver, cardiovascular diseases, even cancer. It has been revealed in studies that unhealthy teeth negatively affect life in many ways, from social relationships to mental health, however, an insignificant caries can also damage overall body health. Research shows that oral and dental health is not given enough attention in our country. It seems that oral and maintenance hygiene awareness has not been formed. Dentist checks, which should be done regularly every six months, are performed once every two years in our country.

COLD WEATHER IS THE CAUSE OF GUM RECESSION

I stayed outside for a long time in the cold weather. During this time I spent playing sports, I also didn’t have a hat and a beret on my head. That night I went to bed, and when I got up in the morning, I had a severe pain in the right side of my mouth, in the lower and upper parts, in the jaw and palate area, where my teeth were on the back side. I was very surprised to have pain in the area where there are about 5 teeth in a day. I wonder if a cold that occurs in cold weather, in the head or throat area, causes such unbearable toothache or pain?

Patients with gingival recession, when walking in the winter, usually do mouth breathing due to the fact that their nose is blocked. The difference in heat between the inside and outside of the mouth acts on the root of the tooth due to the Decayed gum. Cold air can also cause problems in cases such as existing cracks on the tooth, coatings that do not fit the teeth and gums well, fillings that have impaired integrity with the tooth surface, and secondary caries that have formed under the filling. Have a dentist do a panoramic X-ray and do a general problem scan.

.
YOUR COATING IS PERISHABLE

I realized that the implant I had made five years ago was playing. When I checked that tooth with my hand, I felt it shake. I wonder if this will turn into a pain and similar problem by creating an eating and drinking problem in the future?

If there is no pain when you shake the coating on the implant with your hand, the reason for the shaking is that the screw between the implant screw root and the upper part called the abutment has Decayed, or the adhesive of the tooth coating on the implant has lost its property. So visit your dentist as soon as possible, otherwise it can lead to even greater problems.

.
DO NOT USE TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL

What are the incidence and causes of oral cancers?

3-5 Percent of all malignant tumors are located in the head and neck area. About half of them are located in the oral cavity, and intraoral cancer cells make up about 90 percent of the total. It is defined as a malignant tumor, which is usually found in men over the age of 60 who have a habit of using tobacco and alcohol. However, this ratio has begun to change and is increasingly observed in patients under the age of 40, women without any risk factors, adolescents, even children.
