WHAT IS THE DISEASE OF TEETHING (BRUXISM)? HOW DOES THE DISEASE OF TEETHING PASS?

Tooth extraction disease is a health problem that is quite easy to treat, which we have often heard about in recent years. Although the results vary from person to person, it usually causes long-lasting joint pain. Turkey Medicals American hospital department of dental and Operator Dentist told about the problem of teething, which is known as a metropolitan disease.

.
WHAT IS THE DISEASE OF TEETHING?

A disease that wakes up the patient with unbearable jaw joint pain, often also hits the pain head. Some patients grit their teeth so much at night that they wake up in the morning with neck pains. Teeth length is getting shorter from squeezing teeth. In a nutshell, you wake up like mud. And in addition to this, there are also patients who squeeze their teeth during the day. The situation I’m talking about is teething in your sleep at night. That is, bruxism.

.
WHAT IS THE FREQUENCY OF TEETHING (BRUXISM) DISEASE IN SOCIETY? IS THERE AN INCREASE IN THIS DISEASE IN RECENT YEARS?

Indeed, the disease of teething is a very common condition. I don’t think it has increased, but let’s just say that we have become more comfortable diagnosing and treating it. Especially since I moved to Istanbul in 2016, I have been clenching my teeth more and more. I think metropolitan disease is the right term for this disease.

.
WHY ARE DOCTORS WORKING IN FIELD OF AESTHETICS TREATING TOOTH EXTRACTION DISEASE?

Actually, it’s plain logic. We mostly use botox for teeth tightening treatment. Who does the most botox applications? Physicians engaged in the field of aesthetics. It seems that this issue has been put on us for a while. But there are dozens of successful operator Antalya dentists in this field who treat patients in Turkey.

.
IS MASSETER BOTOX APPLICATION A COMMON APPLICATION?

I would say I do it every day. It has a very nice side effect besides reducing the complaints of teething. In fact, patients like the side effect of this. Don’t thin out! You can consider Botox as a muscle relaxant. After the application of Masseter botox, the muscles located there relax and you cannot squeeze your teeth with your old strength. And if you stop clenching your teeth, the muscles there start to shrink. This, in turn, makes the face slimmer and more triangular.

.
WHEN IS THINNING OBSERVED AFTER MASSETER BOTOX?

Imagine that you are a person who goes to fitness every day. You have worked for many years and your muscles have grown. One day your muscles won’t shrink just because you didn’t go to. Botox prevents you from clenching your teeth, preventing you from exercising, and you may think that this muscle shrinks over time.

.
CAN PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO LOOK WEAK MAKE THIS APPLICATION?

It depends on the skin firmness. While you can easily do this application in young people, we are making you more hesitant in people who have advanced age or have started a relaxation problem. Because when the masseter shrinks, the already flabbiness of the face may appear and you may get a cosmetically more saggy image. For this, I first inform the patient about what may happen. Is pain more important for the patient ? Cosmetics? Having decided on this (until now, patients have always paid attention to cosmetics), I start treatment. The treatment is done in these patients by first applying botox and relieving the pain of the person and then applying filler to the necessary places. Thus, both the pain stops and the face does not droop.

.
WHAT KIND OF APPLICATION IS MASSETER BOTOX?

First, we examine the patient’s mouth closure, muscle strength in the masseter and temple area. Then the necessary areas are numbed with drug creams. The patient is waiting in the cream for about half an hour, the procedure takes about 5 minutes. It’s not a very painful procedure. Injections are made at several points. We invite our patient to a check-up after 2-3 weeks. After checking if we have done enough doses, we make an appointment for a new session.

.
WHAT ARE THE MUSCLE PRACTICE SESSIONS?

It’s actually quite volatile. Sometimes the patient has a stressful period. At that time, you are doing botox, the tooth decantation is passing, the stress is also passing. Never come again it doesn’t.
