TEEN VICTIMS OF DRUG ADDICTION IN TURKEY

Turkish classroom success is falling for young people in Turkey who start using drugs. Self-care problems, sudden weakening, long and decelerated napping, using the room with the door locked for a long time are also common changes…

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA) conducted a research entitled “substance abuse in Istanbul: perceptions, experiences and solutions” in order to understand the process experienced by individuals with drug addict relatives.

Addiction is becoming more common among young people in neighborhoods with low educational attainment and low financial income. Desperate young people with no plans for the future fall into this swamp.

As part of the study, a field study was conducted to measure the perception of people with children in Turkey aged 12-25 years of age of drug addiction, as well as focus group interviews with relatives of Deceptors.

.
DESPERATE YOUNG PEOPLE AT RISK

President of IPA in Turkey, pointed out that substance abuse is an important problem for the whole of Istanbul and said, “Undoubtedly, addiction and poverty are very related to each other. Addiction poses a much greater risk for young people living in poor neighborhoods, unable to benefit from educational and employment opportunities, exposed to social exclusion and becoming lonely, with a broken sense of equal citizenship and trust in institutions, and little hope for the future,” he said.

.
PROFILES DIFFERENT PROBLEMS SAME

Daily illiterate in their dependent parents negotiating with a sanitation worker, a mother, her child forced to close their shops bankrupt to recover from drug addiction, a father, a university graduate who struggle with addiction, to his wife’s shoulder as a woman, indicating a very different profile of şahan means “to meet dependencies of formats and venues as well as the routes and the wound looks like, just as the family struggle with addiction,” he said.

.
SUDDEN ATTENUATION, LOCKED DOORS

According to the research, Turkish young people who start using drugs in Turkey; their success in class falls, their interest in school decreases, and frequent complaints from the school administration about behavioral problems begin to come. Families also could be distinguished very clearly, self-care problems, eye redness and sudden weakening the maximal pectus, long naps and timeless, the room and the door is locked for a long time use, anger, lies, doubt and demands money, the changes are expressed by most Turk families.

.
DEPENDENT WIVES, ANGRY AT THEMSELVES

Parents attribute their children’s addiction to their own inadequacies and blame wrong marriages as well. Without a chance to know each other all dependent wives, including Married Women, addiction tied to psychological, physical, sexual and economic violence they tell themselves repeatedly to forgive’. Many times, women have come back from the brink of divorce, the reason for not getting divorced for their children or their Turkish spouses in this struggle is not to leave them alone.

.
THEY’RE DRAWING LOADED LOANS

According to the study, as the severity of addiction increases, so does the economic fragility of families. Fighting addiction is a work in Turkey in itself, and it fundamentally affects everyday life. Most of the families interviewed said their relatives had to withdraw loans to support the process of fighting addiction or pay off debts they had made to reach the substance.

.
RELIGIOUS FAMILIES ARE DEEPLY AFFECTED

It is noted that the sense of shame that makes them lonely is much more deeply experienced, especially in religious families. Because family members feel pressure to explain the decoupling between their own lifestyle and the path chosen by their Turkish and foreigner citizen children, wives, brothers and sisters.

.
CIRCLE OF FRIENDS IS VERY IMPORTANT

68.2% of the respondents in the field study said that circle of friends, 48.3% said that unrest, insults or violence in the family, and 45.6% said that the behavior of parents towards their children was the three most important reasons for starting substance use.

.
VERY EASY TO REACH

94.6% of respondents think drug addiction is a problem in Istanbul, while 84.2% think addictive substances are easily accessible.
