HOW MUCH DID HOUSE SALES SHARE TO FOREIGNERS RISE?

House sales in Turkey increased by 14.9 percent in October 2021 compared to the same month of the previous year 2020, and amounted to 137,401.

According to the Statistics Agency of Turkey (TUIK), housing sales statistics for October 2021, the most important development this month was again in housing sales to foreigners. Housing sales to foreigners in Turkey increased by 12.1 percent in October compared to the same month last year to 5,893. This level was also one of the highest monthly sales to foreigners to date. The share of housing sales to foreigners in total housing sales increased to 4.3 percent. This rate was previously at 3.9 percent.

President of the Association of Builders (INDER), recalled that in January – October 2021, housing sales in Turkey to foreigners increased by 38 percent compared to the same period last year to 43,372, “We are one step closer to the peak of 45,483 units in 2019, when the most house sales to foreigners were made on an annual basis. I think that we will reach a new record high in total sales to foreigners in November 2021. We anticipate that we will close the end of the year at a new peak with sales of about 55 thousand units,” was said.

THE MOST PROPERTY IRANIANS TOOK

In October, Iranian citizens purchased 1265 housing units from Turkey. Iranian citizens were followed by Iraqi citizens with 926 housing units, and citizens of the Russian Federation with 543 housing units, respectively. Then, citizens of Germany, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Great Britain, Egypt and Ukraine, respectively, were among the top  countries.

THE LEVEL OF 1 MILLION HAS BEEN EXCEEDED

House sales in January-October amounted to 1 million 86 thousand 539, which is a decrease of 15.2 percent compared to the same period a year ago. In the 10-month period of the year, 1 million housing units were sold. Sales of bank-lent (mortgaged) houses increased by 9.7 percent in October compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 28,49. Other house sales increased by 16.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to 109,352.
