WHAT CAUSES TOOTH SENSITIVITY?

As the temperature outside drops, your teeth also feel the cold. Cold weather can cause pain in your teeth, especially if you are dealing with dental sensitivity problems. Antalya Dentist gave information about tooth sensitivity, which is more felt in winter.

Many people suffer from tooth sensitivity. Most sensitivities pass by themselves. However, if you are experiencing long-term tooth sensitivity, this may be a sign of a larger health problem. If your teeth have excessive sensitivity that lasts longer than 2-3 days, it is important to contact your dentist.

Although the cause of tooth sensitivity varies from person to person, almost always the surface of the dentin exposed due to worn tooth enamel causes this condition. Tooth enamel is the layer that protects the inner layer of your teeth (dentin). When tooth enamel wears out, there is nothing left to protect sensitive teeth from hot and cold.

.
CAUSES OF TOOTH ENAMEL LOSS AND SOLUTION SUGGESTIONS

Improper brushing or hard brushing: Using a toothbrush that is too hard can put unnecessary pressure on your teeth. Brushing too hard can erode tooth enamel and leave the dentin exposed. Brushing your teeth by making circular movements with a medium hard toothbrush and not applying too much pressure will reduce wear.

WHAT CAUSES TOOTH SENSITIVITY

Dental plaque buildup and tooth decay: If you don’t remove plaque effectively, it can harden to form tartar and further expose dentin, contributing to tooth decay. It is very important to brush twice a day, floss once a day, and visit your dentist for regular dental cleaning.

Teeth grinding: Friction caused by teeth grinding can erode your enamel, and pressure can cause cracks that can later attract bacteria and infections. Using toothpaste that will seal the resulting cracks and dentin surface can eliminate your pain and whining.

Gum disease: Tartar formation damages your teeth and gums. Over time, your gums may become inflamed and become infected, eventually your gums may pull out. The exposed root surface is unprotected and can be affected by our breathing in cold weather and food and drinks of different temperatures. If the exposed root surface is not too large, this surface can be covered with a filler. But if larger surfaces have been exposed, it can be protected with a porcelain tooth.

.
HOW TO KEEP YOUR TEETH HEALTHY THIS WINTER?

In order to reduce tooth sensitivity and keep your smile healthy, do not neglect your visits to the dentist for regular check-ups and cleaning of dental calculus. You can use desensitizing toothpaste. If you gnash your teeth at night, sleep with plaque at night.
