HABITS THAT CAN DAMAGE ADULT AND CHILDREN TEETH

There are a number of habits that can potentially damage teeth, and some are much more common than we think. Here are 4 harmful habits that are common:

.
INCREASED ACIDIC FOOD AND DRINK CONSUMPTION

It is necessary to pay attention to citric acid fruits and juices, carbonated drinks, including carbonated water, vinegar and excessive alcohol consumption. These harmful foods and drinks lead to a condition known as acid erosion, which is characterized by thinning and destruction of the upper layer of the tooth, known as tooth enamel.

.
GRINDING AND SQUEEZING TEETH

This is an increasingly common habit. There are many complex factors that drive patients to grind or squeeze their teeth. We see it more often in times of anxiety and stress. Other factors that play a role can be listed as genetics, arthritic changes in bone and changes in cartilage in the jaw joint, incorrectly made fillings and dentures, gum disease trauma, etc. Unfortunately, many patients with this habit are not aware of this. If precautions are not taken, it can lead to various problems and symptoms, such as thinning and wear on the teeth.

.
EXCESSIVE BRUSHING OF THE TEETH

Wear may occur on the teeth when using a hard toothbrush and/or abrasive toothpaste. Wear is characterized by the decline of the gum line, where excessive brushing occurs, leading to the formation of final cavities, known as wear cavities, on the neck of the tooth when left unchecked. These can lead to severe symptoms of pain and tenderness, and it is often necessary to restore these teeth with a filling material to reduce the symptoms and effects of wear. If the Wear continues for several years, gum surgery may be required to correct gum withdrawal.

.
SMOKING

Negative effects of smoking on general health are known. What is less known, however, is that smoking is directly linked to the progression of gum disease. Untreated gum disease progresses to a form of disease known as advanced periodontitis, characterized by pronounced bone loss and relaxation of teeth. Of course, there are other factors that cause gum disease.

Turkish dentists are invaluable sources of information on how to not only treat existing disease, but also prevent future problems, and how to keep your mouth healthy and healthy from the disease. Remember that a healthy smile reflects a healthy body!
