SURGICAL AND NON-SURGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR PROBLEMS AROUND THE EYES

Because of the delicate skin around the eyes and the facial expressions that we make for a lifetime, our area that ages most quickly and attracts the most attention on our face. What methods can we delay aging in this region and how can we alleviate the deformations that occur? Turkish Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery specialist Prof. explained to us in our news.

.
WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON PROBLEMS IN AND AROUND THE EYE?

The eye and around the eyes are one of the areas where signs of facial aging first appear. This area is a region that needs to be considered when treating both rapidly aging and due to its delicate texture, the treatment requires experience. Age, environmental and genetic factors around the eyes, swelling around the eyes, sagging, collapse of the eyelid, bags and bruising under the eyes, goose foot lines, such as complaints begin to appear. These complaints can be evaluated together with the general condition of the patient, sometimes with non-surgical methods, sometimes with eyelid surgery in Turkey or face lift applications.

.
DO DEFORMATIONS AROUND EYES SHOULD BE TREATED AS JUST AESTHETIC DISCOMFORT, AND DO THEY HAVE PHYSICAL EFFECTS THAT MAKE LIFE DIFFICULT?

Yes, of course there are. Men, for example, may not care much about wrinkles, but they want to solve these problems because low eyelids also affect the field of vision. Aesthetic problems around the eyes lead to tired and sleepless looks, as well as creating unwanted images in all of us, both men and women. On the other hand, skin accretions on the upper eyelid can in some cases become difficult for patients to open their eyes, affect vision, lead to a constant eyebrow lift reflex, which leads to headaches, early and deep wrinkles on the forehead. Plastic surgery provides very successful solutions to such situations.

.
WHAT PROCEDURES CONSIST OF AESTHETICS AROUND THE EYES?

Aesthetic procedures for this region are called blepharoplasty. A large number of procedures, such as eyebrow lifting, eyelid miscarriage treatment, under-eye bags removal, slanted eye aesthetics, medium face lift, performed according to the patient’s complaints and needs, are covered by eye area aesthetics.

.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER AESTHETIC SURGERY AROUND THE EYES?

Among the aesthetic procedures around the eyes, the most requested are applications for eliminating problems such as decadence and sagging on the eyelid. Excess skin is surgically removed in accretions on the upper lid. In this operation, the upper eyelids are cut over 1 inch of the eyelashes and the incision can be hidden so that it is not visible. Fat tissues can also be removed if necessary. In patients with miscarriage of the eyelids, the muscle that lifts the eyelid is shortened and the lids are removed.

In case of bagging complaint about the lower eyelid, fat tissues accumulated in this area are removed and moved to the cheek. If necessary, it is also possible to move the middle part of the face up with the surgical procedure for the bags under the eyes and to make fat injections to the areas where necessary. In this operation, incisions can be hidden under the eyelash or through the lower eyelid.

Eyebrow miscarriage complaint can be treated alone or can be done as part of upper face rejuvenation. The forehead, eyebrows, and upper eyelids are called the “upper face area”. Surgical and non-surgical solutions are evaluated according to the size of eyebrow miscarriage. In patients who experience a complaint of low brow, the method of hanging with a rope may be preferred. In this method, eyebrows are hung with surgical ropes sent from the hair area.

The most precise solution for the treatment of eyebrow miscarriage can be taken with stretching operations. If brow miscarriage is also accompanied by accretion at the edges of the eyes, temple stretching surgery may be resorted to. Decisional solution is provided by endoscopic forehead lift operations in patients with relaxation and horizontal lines on the forehead skin and reduced distance between the eyebrow and eye. As the incisions are made from the area of the hair, there are no obvious scars.

.
WHAT ARE THE NON-SURGICAL APPLICATIONS AROUND EYE AREA AESTHETICS?

Botox is one of the non-surgical methods that also gives successful results in aesthetics around the eyes. Botox can be used to remove crowbar lines or wrinkles in the middle of the eyebrow. Botox can also be used for patients with accretion at the edges of the eyes and who want to slightly lift the edges of the eyebrows. Salmon DNA application can be used to improve fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and to illuminate the under eyes. It is possible to reduce bruising under the eyes, dark circles, swelling in this area and bagging problems when using appropriate mesotherapy products. Fillers and laser methods can also be applied for bruises that occur under the eye.

.
WHAT IS SLANT EYE AESTHETICS?

Loosening of the lower eyelid and sagging of the edges of the eyes leads to a person constantly looking sad and tired. This condition can be corrected by a method called cantopexy with its medical name, which is described in the press as “almond eye aesthetics”. In this method, the lower eyelid is stretched and the edges of the eyes are raised. Along with slanted eye aesthetics, eyelid aesthetics, eyebrow lifting and Temple stretching operations can also be performed. These procedures make the eyes look younger.

.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER AESTHETIC SURGERY AROUND THE EYES?

If only the upper eyelid is to be treated, the operation takes 45 minutes. Operations on the lower eyelid are around 1.5 hours. If stretching operations are also added to the aesthetics around the eyes, this time will be even longer. Mostly patients are discharged on the same day. For the first 2 days, it is normal to see some swelling and bruising. It is recommended to apply ice to reduce this. Patients 3. day can watch TV, read books, go out wearing sunglasses. 7. on the day all the stitches will be removed. After the stitches are removed, the patient can return to work. The remaining bruises can be hidden with concealer makeup. After about 3 weeks, the face largely returns to normal. Patients should be protected from the sun for 3 months after surgery in Turkey JCI hospitals.
