WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS FOR SIGNS OF SKIN CANCER?

An expert has listed the “red flags” that can be considered a sign of skin cancer. Noting that with the advent of summer, the duration of people’s sun exposure will also increase, experts have warned against skin cancer, which can be caused by the harmful effects of the sun.

Turkey Medicals member and JCI Florya hospital Aesthetic clinic /Dermatologist in Istanbul said, “early detection of skin cancer can significantly increase the chances of treating it effectively, so it is vital that we are all aware of the red flags to watch out for.”

“Like all health problems, prevention is more appropriate than treatment. We should do everything we can to avoid skin cancer in the first place and use enough sunscreen to block out harmful UVA and UVB rays, not only in sunny weather all year round, should be an important part of our daily routine.” was said.

Here are the early warning signs you can look out for for skin cancer:

.
CHANGES IN THE APPEARANCE AND TEXTURE OF MOLES

Most of us have skin growths called moles, which are usually harmless but can be a common place for melanomas to develop. It is important that you check your moles regularly for any changes that may occur.

.
FOOT AND TOENAIL CHANGES

Skin cancer can develop anywhere in our body, but one of the places we should pay attention to is our nails and toenails. Melanomas can appear as dark spots or lines under our nails, while the skin around the nails can also darken.

.
PERSISTENT ITCHING

It is completely natural that our skin itches from time to time, and it is usually completely harmless. However, if it persists in a certain area, it may be a sign of skin cancer, especially if there are other warning signs such as changes in appearance.

.
VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

Melanomas traditionally appear on our skin, but they can also develop in the eyes and cause changes in our vision. Ocular melanoma can be difficult to notice until it actually progresses, and symptoms include blurred vision, decolorized spots, and an increased number of flying objects.

.
SCALY AND DRY SKIN

Our skin can become dry and scaly from time to time, and most often there is nothing to worry about. But persistent scaly spots can sometimes be a symptom of skin cancer.
.

If you also have these symptoms and are concerned about skin cancer, it is important to contact your Turkish dermatologist doctor as soon as possible and have your symptoms checked.
