OUR GOAL FOR 2022 SHOULD BE TO ‘ GET TO KNOW OURSELVES

“The best gift we can give ourselves is to know ourselves.” said to Turkey Medicals, and our Life Coach gave us information about the method of psychosynthesis; shared ways to deal with challenging emotions and situations and protect our mental health; gave the best tips on what our 2022 goals should be for a better life in Turkey.

You say that you know yourself by the method of psychosynthesis and transform your life. How does this transformation begin? Can we get information about this method?

Transformation is a process of internal transformation. But this process begins when a person takes a sincere step, saying, “I want to change my feelings, thought patterns, ways of behavior that harm me.” Psychosynthesis that contributed a lot to the formation of modern psychology in the XVII century. It is a psychology school, an ecol with schools and therapy centers in most countries of the world. There is a therapy department run by Clinical Psychologists in these structures, and a Psychosynthesis Life Coaching department that I am in and have an international certificate in.

The Method of Psychosynthesis is a method that I created by adding Meditation and Deep Astrology to the main structure of psychosynthesis. Deep astrology gives serious tips about the spiritual, psychological background and life cycles of its clients. A client usually starts this work by setting a goal or requesting that we set that goal together. In this process; we identify the sub-identities that sabotage him while moving towards the set goal and we consider how he can manage them with various psychosynthesis techniques. Already, when a person realizes and accepts these sub-identities, change begins. He is beginning to learn what emotions and thoughts are pushing him, the main source of them, and how he can transfer these patterns into new and constructive channels. So in fact, as we realize the compulsive internal energies, especially with sub-identity working techniques, we are starting to be able to manage these compulsive emotions.

We also use meditation in every session during this process. Meditation Understanding our inner energies allows us to stay in balance by deepening into our inner center. When I apply all these applications carefully and safely, after a while, a radical change occurs in my clients. Their outlook on themselves and their lives is changing. They are learning to manage their own emotions. And so a real transformation begins in their lives.

During the pandemic, we all had different lives. We began to socialize less and less. What can we do to maintain our mental health during this period?

The pandemic period, which is still going on obviously, has tied us all back home. I’m making a definition like this: in the pandemic, people “fell into it.” During normal periods, a person who did not return to the Interior and did not look at what was happening inside, but instead preferred to suppress the problematic energies inside him with various activities outside and escape from them fell into himself. Some stayed in the same house, some stayed in the nuclear family, and some stayed alone. And the problems in relations that were delayed to be addressed have come to the surface. When there was nowhere to escape, he returned to the interior as a mandatory part, an internal investigation became mandatory. Whether this is the case or there are no big problems in their lives, very limited socialization in all ways is a challenging element for a person. For this reason, I believe that it is necessary to devote more time to meditation during this period than ever before. Because meditations re-introduce you to your inner center. In fact, everything is ours inside. But because we are always used to living outside, looking outside, we forget that the balance, peace and tranquility we need is inside. Meditation reminds us of this. By contacting our inner center, in a sense, taking root there, he experiences the beauty of loneliness, peace and a sense of wholeness inside. Long walks in nature and meditation keep us away from the harmful effects of this period. We must remember that self-knowledge, understanding and inner peace is an internal state. And meditation is a unique tool in this sense.

We all experience emotions such as disappointments, anxiety, anger, fear, pain, jealousy. How can we cope with these challenging feelings and situations?

It is very important that we realize the compelling emotions. And to face that feeling, to be able to manage it by accepting it from him. As a rule, we react in two types when there is a compelling feeling caused by a challenging situation:

1- By being angry and blaming the situation/person that triggered that feeling.

And giving sudden reactions.

2- Suppressing that feeling, running away from it.

Neither is the solution.

In the first one, by always looking for the culprit/responsible person on the outside and experiencing bursts of emotion on the outside, we both damage our relationships and cause this problem to grow even more by ignoring the problem that we should see on the inside. However, every compulsive emotion that is suppressed becomes more rooted inside and it rules us. Therefore, it is wrong to quarrel with compulsive emotions, to see them as an enemy that needs to be destroyed, or to suppress them. Instead, every time we experience such an emotion, for example, let’s say anger, let’s accept that feeling of anger. But without identifying with it. In psychosynthesis, we emphasize that we should not identify with any emotion, but instead accept that emotion as an energy. So let’s say we are addressing anger: instead of “I am very angry”, saying “I feel an energy of anger” gives a different message to the brain. Such an expression will not allow that feeling to rule us. And then: “I accept this energy of anger. But I am beyond all kinds of emotions,” we emphasize. We can apply this simple but very effective work in every challenging emotion. Especially when applied regularly, we now become able to manage those compulsive emotions without identification.

WHAT IS THE COMPLAINT HEARD MOST OFTEN FROM CLIENTS?

We especially observe that a lot of people have been having difficulty finding meaning in life lately. It seems that it is difficult to create a goal, but to create a permanent goal. Of course, the pandemic process and the challenging conditions of that process have a lot of impact on this. On the one hand, I think this is useful. Because asking the question “what is my meaning and purpose in this life” takes a person towards a kind of inner journey and inner questioning. This is also very important. Because a shallow understanding of this world’s life, such as just being born, fed, mated, and then dying, already leads a person into a meaning vacuum. That is why I think it is very valuable and healthy to question the meaning and purpose of life.

New goals are usually set every new year. And many of those goals are somehow disrupted. Because external goals are sabotaged by sub-identities many times. Because these sub-identities, for example, the afraid sub-identity, the insecure sub-identity, and so on. they are problematic energies that have been neglected internally. And he wants to make his voice heard to us. And as we insist on not hearing them, their cries rise and they sabotage us for our lives. It is precisely for these reasons that I am saying that we should set the internal goal of “Getting to Know Ourselves” for 2022. The best gift we can give ourselves is to know ourselves in this life. Our weaknesses, our impulses, our desires, learning to manage our compulsive emotions and being able to be a whole within ourselves and stay in balance should be the goal of the new year for all of us.
