THE PROCESS AFTER NOSE SURGERY

What Is the Process Like After Nose Surgery, What Should Be Considered?

One of the most widely applied medical aesthetic interventions in the world is rhinoplasty, also known as rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty can be applied to both women and men to make the shape, width and length of the nose more compatible with the contours of the face. Rhinoplasty, which can be preferred both for health reasons and for aesthetic reasons, can correct congenital or subsequent deformations.

For What Purposes Is Nose Surgery Performed?

Rhinoplasty surgery can be performed in order for people to achieve both their health and the aesthetic image they want. While nose surgery is performed for aesthetic purposes for people who are unhappy with the shape and appearance of their nose, functional nose surgery can also be performed for people who have breathing problems for reasons such as nasal congestion as a health requirement. Nasal surgery, in which the factors that interfere with the air flow in the nose are eliminated and the nose is given the desired shape, is called Septorhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty, which should be planned according to the characteristic facial features of the person, can be performed with an open or closed technique.

The Recovery Process After Nose Surgery Is Very Important

In order to have a healthy and fast recovery process after nose surgery, it is very important that the patient fully follows the doctor’s recommendations. After surgery, complaints such as swelling, bruising, and pain may occur temporarily at the application site. In this case, applying cold to the area can have a positive effect. Preference should be given to a lying position in which the head will remain slightly higher than the heart until the complete disappearance of the formed edema. For pain that can be felt at a minimal level, painkillers prescribed by a doctor can be used.

A week after nose surgery, a plaster or plastic bandage on the nose is removed, in other words, a splint, and the bands are removed the next week. Caution should be exercised about conditions that can lead to bleeding by increasing blood pressure in the nose, such as heavy exercise, long periods of time in a drooping position of the head, and stress during the week following surgery. In the same way, no blow to the nose should be taken and glasses should be for the first month after surgery. Since the nose has a delicate skin structure, creams with a high factor of protection against the sun’s rays should be used. Patients after nose surgery, 6. and 12. he should not disrupt the doctor’s check-ups during the months. It may take up to 1-1.5 years for recovery to become noticeable after nose surgery and for the nose to take its final shape.
