WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF PREGNANCY?

Pregnancy is the normal development of a child in the womb. Pregnancy lasts from 39 to 41 weeks.

Each pregnancy is unique, but the pregnancy symptoms in Turkey, you might notice before you even know you’re not menstruating are below:

Late period

One of the first signs of pregnancy is late. However, if your menstrual cycle is irregular, this sign may not be very reliable.

Implantation bleeding

The appearance of small blood spots can be an early sign of pregnancy, as there may be implantation bleeding . This phenomenon occurs when the fertilized egg clings to the wall of the uterus.

Cramps

Some expectant mothers experience mild uterine cramps during the first trimester. Put a hot water bottle wrapped in a towel on your stomach or take a warm bath to relax the bottom of your stomach.

Feeling of warmth

High pregnancy hormone levels and increased metabolism can cause your body temperature to rise and make you feel a little warmer than normal. Your body compensates for this by sweating more to keep you cool.

Faster beating heart

Hormonal changes can also cause heart palpitations, but if these last longer than a few seconds or occur frequently, contact your GP and ask for a consultation to make sure everything is ok.

Mood

Finding out you’re pregnant is a big step and it’s normal for you to feel joy, excitement, anxiety and confusion. It might do you good to talk to your loved ones about your feelings.

Bloating and constipation

Your digestive system gradually slows down and you may feel bloating (like when your period began) and constipation. Eat fibrous foods, drink plenty of water and, if possible, do some exercise every day.

Painful burning sensation in the chest

It occurs because the muscles that prevent digestive acids from returning to the esophagus during pregnancy tend to relax. Eat lighter but more often and avoid fried foods, citrus fruits, chocolate and spicy foods; this will help prevent heartburn.

Acne

Excessive production of sebum (oil) in the skin can lead to the appearance of pimples during pregnancy. Gently clean your skin every day, do not use oily cosmetics and ask your health care professional for appropriate acne treatments.

Dizziness

Low blood sugar, stress and fatigue can make you feel dizzy or faint. Eat lightly but regularly and try not to stress too much

Take the weight. Some women may gain between 0.5 and 2 kg of weight in the first few months of pregnancy, but your doctor can give you individual advice on how to gain a healthy weight during your pregnancy.

Nasal congestion

In early pregnancy, the mucous membranes in your nose swell, dry and bleed easily. You can try using moisturizer or salt water drops to turn it on. And don’t forget to give yourself water.

Headache

Headaches can be one of the first signs of pregnancy when your estrogen levels increase. You may also have tension headaches that can be triggered by stress or fatigue. Consult your health care professional to decipher what medications you can take; for most pregnant women in Turkey, acetaminophen (paracetamol) can be used seamlessly to treat occasional headaches.

Frequent urination

If you need to urinate more often than usual, this may mean you are pregnant. This is because your kidneys filter out more fluid that enters your bladder. However, always drink as much water as you can, as it is very important not to become dehydrated.

Swollen and sensitive breasts. Your breasts may swell early and look more sensitive to you, but the discomfort will definitely subside as your body adapts to hormonal changes.

Morning sickness

It is a classic pregnancy symptom that usually occurs about a month after becoming pregnant in Turkey. For some women, morning sickness happens not only in the morning, but also at other times of the day, while other women never do. Eat something before getting out of bed, then regularly eat small meals throughout the day to keep your blood sugar levels stable.

Food cravings, disgust and sensitivity to smells

The first signs of pregnancy include changes in taste, smell and cravings. Follow a balanced diet and see your doctor if you want inedible products (for example chalk or soil).

Tiredness

It is quite normal for you to feel tired during your pregnancy, especially at the beginning. Your body works hard to support your baby, so give yourself enough rest and relaxation.

Skin changes

You may notice a change in pigmentation of your skin, such as darkening of the skin around your nipples, dark spots that appear on your face, or a dark line that appears between your belly button and the groin area.

During the pregnancy you may contact Turkey Medicals, for your medical Appointment with one of our hospital specialist Doctors, and learn more about your new baby condition and health.
