In Van of Turkey, and first freelance midwife and yoga instructor, stated that everyone should do yoga at this time of year and said, “Yoga is a way of life”.

A midwife of 14 years, who stated that she has been giving yoga, pregnant yoga, birth preparation training, breastfeeding counseling to adults in Van for about 5 years, said that she is the first freelance midwife of the region. expressing that she has been working as a birth preparation instructor and breastfeeding consultant with yoga for 5 years,  said, “I came across yoga while researching myself. It bothered me a lot to realize that I was not aware of my body, my breath, my mind was constantly working, and therefore I started researching yoga. Then I went to the trainings. There was no one in Van who was interested in this business. I have been going to long-term trainings and workshops outside the city. Then I started announcing yoga in Van to my close people on social media. It was a whole new thing for Van. I voluntarily gave special yoga, pregnant yoga in gyms, cultural centers,” she said.

Saying that yoga is something beyond physical movement, said, “Yoga is a process of uniting ourselves using breath, mind and body. Although it is in the form of physically recognizing the body, stretching, stretching, opening, the benefits it provides contribute to strengthening our nervous system and spiritual growth. i did it for 3 months, 5 months, 1 year, 5 years, it’s not a process that can be called over. It’s a process where we find ourselves. Because it’s the first time you’re facing your body, your mind. This is also very enjoyable,” she said.

THERE IS A LOT OF INTEREST, ESPECIALLY FROM PREGNANT WOMEN

Stating that she completed her pregnant yoga trainings in Turkey after her yoga training, she said that they provide training especially to pregnant women. After the 16th week of pregnancy, pregnant women with the advice of a doctor from yoga, birth preparation, education, preparation for birth, and parent support she stating that “currently, there is a demand especially for women, including pregnant women. I teach them breathing, meditation, exercise, mother-baby communication lessons. Besides that, I also give yoga classes to adults,” she said.

BABIES PULL EVERYTHING THAT MOM FEELS LIKE A SPONGE

Especially in the pandemic process, when people who stay at home start to access something online, yoga is now being heard all over the world, she said that he has started to see the reflections of this. Noting that yoga is especially important for pregnant women to have a pleasant pregnancy, continued her words as follows:

“Pregnancy is a process that lasts 9 months, is crowned with childbirth, and with a new individual joining the family, life takes on a different dimension. It is very important for pregnant women in Turkey to have a pleasant pregnancy. A pregnancy process in which there are no physical pains, pains, cramps makes the process enjoyable. Pregnant yoga is a period of time when your body relaxes with exercises, you can devote time to yourself. It becomes easier for a peaceful expectant mother to form strong bonds with her baby while she is in the womb. Mother-baby communication first begins in the womb. Babies sponge off everything that mom feels. The mother’s physical and mental well-being positively affects the baby’s nervous system and physical development. Therefore, pregnant yoga facilitates childbirth. Mom manages childbirth better with relaxation, release and proper breathing, which she learned in the lessons. Stretching your body with exercises makes it easier for the baby to be born.”

YOGA IS NOT JUST ABOUT CROSS-LINKING, JOINING HANDS AND DOING OHHHH

Stating that the trainings are given on weekdays and weekends, said that there is a demand for private lessons especially after the pandemic in addition to group lessons. Emphasizing that the Turkish people have always known yoga as meditation, said, “Yoga is a way of life. Everyone can practice yoga, including children. Yoga is not just about connecting and joining hands and doing ‘oh ho ho’. Breathing is a process in which the mind and body are stretched, strengthened. If we are not aware of our body, we cannot reach the meditation part. When we constantly contract ourselves, we get lost in thoughts that pass through our minds 60 thousand times a day.

The way of life, the hustle and bustle, the traffic, our Turkish work system, comfortable armchairs and chairs all tire our mind and body a lot. Muscles that are constantly shrinking, muscle shorter, appear, and perhaps the human figure is also gradually changing. Because we are sitting all the time, our pains and stress are increasing. That’s why everyone needs to do yoga. Because we don’t have a natural life like we used to. We don’t have a walking area, we don’t have much to breathe. I have to do this all the time, I have to raise these problems, when I say late wakes up, late bedtime, our body, mind can’t rest and is constantly working. As it is, our breaths also begin to shorten in this stress environment. We can’t breathe properly. He thinks that yoga is the most important thing for us to do in these living conditions for him, I expect everyone to yoga for a healthy holidays life in Turkey,” he said.
