MONKEY POX VIRUS’ HAS NOW APPEARED IN THE US

U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced that Monkeypox virus was detected and hospitalized on a U.S. passenger en route from Nigeria to Dallas.

On 2021 July 9, it was announced that the Monkeypox virus had been detected on a US citizen on a flight from Nigeria to Dallas airport.

“There is no state of alert and we do not expect a general threat,” Dallas District Judge said in a statement.

Officials USA said the risk of spreading the virus was low because passengers wore masks on the plane due to the corona virus outbreak.

First detected in laboratory monkeys in the 1950s, the Monkey Pox virus which is transmit by breathing and can be transmitted from person to person, has not been seen in the United States for nearly 20 years.

Between 7-14 days, symptoms of the virus include fatigue, headaches, high fever and muscle aches. The virus, which was controlled in 2003, has no special treatment and vaccine.

A recent statement by UK authorities said that 2 people had been identified with the monkey pox virus. It was stated that both patients were from the same family and had foreign backgrounds.
