LYMPHEDEMA MAN TOLD OF HIS BIGGEST DREAM

41 year-old PT, who reached about 300 kilos and was unable to move, began to lose weight after balloon treatment at the city hospital. He said: “I have a bed in the Turkish house, I’m on it. I couldn’t move at all before the operation. Our biggest dream is to walk around with my wife and child,” he said.

38-year-old artisan PT, who learned that he had lymphedema 8 years ago in Esenyurt and gained weight quickly over time, reached 290 kilos. PT, who lived on the floor bed set up in the Hall of his house in Turkey, tried to meet his needs with the help of his wife and child in an area of about 2 square meters.

ST, the devoted wife of a young man who became almost unable to move due to his weight, was also a hand that his wife could not move. Over time, his condition worsened and the family were admitted to many hospitals, but the doors were closed to their faces. ST, who visited the hospitals alone because his wife could not move, last met with Başakşehir City Hospital where PT’s treatment was started.

Turkey Medicals member and Turkish Associate Professor, Clinical Officer Of Gastroenterology Surgery. Dr. pulmonology, Endocrinology, dietitian and anesthesia teams together with the patient whose weight is now threatening his life evaluated.

A BALLOON WAS PLACED IN HIS STOMACH

As a result of the studies, it was decided to place a balloon in the patient’s stomach and the patient was taken to the operating room with an obese bed. After the successful operation, the balloon was placed in the patient’s stomach with the help of endoscopy. The patient, who began to lose weight shortly after the operation, lost about 15 kilos in two weeks. A special obese ambulance was called to the hospital for the super obesity category patient, who was discharged after his treatment at the hospital. The T couple tearfully described the difficult process they had experienced. The couple stated that their biggest dream was to be able to walk together like in the old days.

HE WILL SHOW THE REAL SUCCESS HIMSELF

An assoc who provides information about the treatment process of a patient of about 300 kilos. Dr. “He came to us in a bit of an emergency because he had respiratory distress because he couldn’t fully open his lungs because of the weight, “said doctor. When he weighed 290-288 kilos, he can now breathe on his own, moving, albeit limited. We placed a balloon with an endoscope in operating room conditions. The goal of the balloon is to cover the inside in volume and change the lifestyle, as well as help diet treatment. In this process, we have a total of 14 days. He was able to go home, and after that, he now has the ball. If it fits diet treatments, if it comes to regular checks, our goal is to be able to do surgery in Turkey after giving about 15-20 percent of the body weight,” said.

.
HEART RATE WAS OVER 120S

Doctor, who stated that the patient is now in good condition with a successful operation after being rejected by many hospitals, said: “we thought we could put our hand under the stone. He was out of breath when he arrived, no movement. A patient whose heart rate is over 120, his general condition is impaired, we can barely do a blood test, we can barely find a vein. Even for endoscopy, we were given a high risk when we interviewed our anesthesiologist friends. Because he really had trouble breathing. We also met with relatives of patients. It was a risky operation, we survived without accidents. After all, an endoscopy seems simple when you look at it, we can do it without putting people to sleep, but it was in the high-risk group for our patient. It was expressed by both anesthesia and pulmonology that his breathing could stop when he received the slightest anesthesia. It was a multi-disciplinary job, a bedridden patient who couldn’t breathe at all. Just a balloon, diet and medication within 15 days of the treatment of close to 15 kilos given” he said.

.
I LIVE IN A 2-METER SPACE

PT who said he wanted to be able to walk with his family again, said: “I have been having weight problems for 8 years. I got lymphedema at the age of 30. After that, my rapid weight gain began. I’ve reached 285-290 kilos. We’ve applied to a lot of places, and no one has accepted it because it’s risky.

They applied balloon therapy to solve his weight problem. You can’t get up from where you’re sitting, you can’t travel. I also have a bed on the floor in the home environment, I’m on it. I live in no more than 2 square meters. Before the operation, I couldn’t move at all, I couldn’t breathe at all. Even in 15 days, they made me lose 15 kilos and move comfortably. I started this path for my child to see what would happen to them if I left, everything for him. We’ll make it, our biggest dream is to walk around with my wife, my child. I could walk until the last two years, ” he said.

.
WE PUT 20 PEOPLE IN THE AMBULANCE

ST, who stated that the process they experienced was quite exhausting, said: “We had a very difficult process. I brought my wife here in an acute condition. He couldn’t breathe, he couldn’t walk, he couldn’t move, he had no movement. At least he can sit on his own right now, thank God. We even put 20 people in the ambulance. One person in the Antalya house is sick, but the entire family is experiencing this disease. He’s been completely restricted for about two years. We really miss traveling together. Hopefully, if he gets up, our first job is to go out and walk, so I don’t want anything else. We don’t want anything too luxurious, just walking. It could have happened to me, from time to time we said it was over, after that we probably didn’t, then we said death. There is no hospital left that we did not knock on the door, I am sure that when they see it, they will already say, ‘Oh, this patient came to me,’” he said.
