WHAT IS EMBRYO TRANSFER?

The last stage in IVF Turkey treatment is embryo transfer. The embryo is obtained by combining the egg collected with the sperm. Embryo transfer (ET) is the process of transferring the fertilized fetus (embrion) in the laboratory into the uterus at the gynecological examination table with the help of a catheter. 1-2 embryos of the highest quality selected from developing embryos are left in the mother’s womb, and the embryos are expected to form pregnancy by clinging to the uterus (endometrium). Many factors such as the age of the woman, the history of treatment, the number and quality of embryos are decided by evaluating which day the transfer will be performed. The embryo transfer process is usually 2-3. or 5. the day is done.

.
HOW IS EMBRYO TRANSFER (ET) DONE?

The expectant mother to be transferred to the embryo is prepared as if there will be a gynecological examination. Embryo transfer is an easy procedure that does not require anesthesia. Because the Transfer process is performed under observation with abdominal ultrasound, it is desirable that the bladder is full during the procedure. Conducting the transfer accompanied by ultrasound allows you to monitor the passage of the catheter into the uterus. During the procedure, the specialist first visualizes the entrance of the uterus, called the cervix, using a vaginal instrument (speculum) and cleanses the cervix with a warm liquid. At this time, in the embryology laboratory, the selected embryo is taken into the appropriate medium and collected. The embryologist prepares the embryos for transfer by pulling them into a soft, long and thin transfer catheter made of silicone, which is attached to the injector at the tip. The specialist then passes the end of the transfer catheter through the cervix, releasing the embryos into the uterine (uterine) cavity.

After the Transfer process, the patient is taken to his room, resting for 15-20 minutes, and there he is asked to rest for about 1 – 2 hours. After the issues that need to be considered are explained by the nurses, they are discharged and the IVF process is terminated. After that, 12 days are expected until the day of the pregnancy test.
