THE IMPORTANCE OF HOME CARE IN ORAL AND DENTAL HEALTH

If you do not clean your teeth properly, you may experience problems that lead to the tooth loss. You should pay attention to many details, from nutrition to the choice of toothpaste, from the care of your brush to the technique of brushing your tongue

Proper home care includes a balanced diet, proper brushing and flossing, as well as the use of tongue cleaners and oral in between. The various aspects of this home care can be summarized as follows:

Nutrition:

Any food or junk food you eat; it gets stuck in decholes, grooves, or between your teeth, and damages your teeth if it is not cleaned properly. Soft candies are the biggest source of caries. Nuts, rice and dried fruits, on the other hand, can damage the teeth by getting stuck between the teeth. When the complex carbohydrates found in potatoes and crackers are broken down, they turn into the same shape as the sugar found in cakes and cookies. Any food debris that accumulates in the cavities of the teeth leads to acid attacks in the mouth, and this damages the enamel, causing the formation of caries. This acid attack continues as long as the food remains in the mouth. Chocolate, which is full of sugar, is not as bad as dried fruits and nuts, because it melts immediately. But food and drinks that melt for a long time continue to have acid attacks for a long time. If you are unable to brush your teeth immediately, you should at least rinse them with water. In addition, chewing a sugar-free gum for about five minutes will help reduce the effect of acid in the mouth and clean the remaining food residues from the surface of the teeth.

.
SCRUB WITHOUT PRESSING TOO MUCH

Brush:

It is recommended that everyone brush their teeth at least twice a day with a soft brush or an electric brush. The first brushing should be in the morning after breakfast, so that your teeth are cleaned before going to work or school. But a sugary vitamin that you will drink after brushing, or a snack that you will eat on the way, prevents brushing teeth from achieving its goal. Because what you eat will get into the pits or between in your teeth, stay there for hours and cause your teeth to rot. One of the most important brushing times is before sleep; thanks to this, there will be nothing left on your teeth without sleeping. This is because saliva flow continues while you are awake and helps clean your teeth, but saliva will decrease while you are sleeping and the risk of food remaining in your teeth rotting your teeth will increase.

Electric toothbrushes have several advantages over regular toothbrushes. The brush stroke generated by an electric brush per second is much greater, and it is obvious that it will be more effective during its use. Keep in mind that it is recommended that a person brush their teeth for about two minutes, while people brush their teeth for an average of 30 seconds. Electric brushes balance this time, and also make it easier to clean the back teeth. There is a kind of alarm system in these brushes that warns you about the two-minute period, and there is also a kind of warning signal that detects that you are pressing too hard and warns you. Use an electronic or regular brush; if you change your brush every three months or less, you won’t infect your gums.

Use of dental floss:

It is useful to use dental floss at least once a day to decontaminate debris and plaque between the teeth, preferably in areas that the brush cannot reach before going to sleep at night. Plaque formed by food leads to tooth decay and causes gum disease. Another important reason for flossing is that studies have shown that it is effective in preventing heart disease. Use about 15 inches of dental floss and wrap it firmly between your thumb and index finger to use it decisively. After that, clean the plaque using dental floss in a circular motion from top to bottom, starting from the base of the gum.

.
LET YOUR PASTE CONTAIN FLUORINE

Toothpaste:

Plaque is a sticky harmful bacterial plaque found on the tooth, and if it is not cleaned, it can cause tooth decay, gum disease, or even tooth loss. Toothpastes with fluorine content help the tooth to be much more resistant to caries. Toothpastes remove superficial stains and create a jul and clean feeling in the mouth. It does not matter what kind of paste you use, as long as it contains fluorine.

Other cleaning methods:

Other methods used to clean teeth are oral juices produced to help kill germs and antiseptic mouthwashes applied after brushing. Mouth showers are also an effective method of cleaning for people who cannot floss. Decoupage brushes and stimulants (very thin toothpicks made of orange wood) are very good helpers in cleaning the debris left between the teeth.

Tongue cleaner:

Your tongue, with its rough surface, creates an area in your mouth suitable for bacteria to hold on. It has been found that 90 percent of bad breath is caused by the mouth, and 80 percent of it is caused by the back of the tongue. Brushing the back of the tongue can trigger nausea. The only way to remove volatile sulfur compounds is with special cleaners designed to clean the tongue.

.
IF YOU DO NOT USE FLUORINE-CONTAINING PASTES

Can I clean my teeth with baking soda instead of toothpaste?

It seems to be working, but there is no fluorine in it. Carbonate, that is, sodium bicarbonate, is one of the cleansers that corrodes the least and is most effective for cleaning teeth. According to data obtained from various clinical and laboratory studies; according to other toothpaste that contains baking soda neutralises acid to reduce the smell and toothpastes, tooth plaque in the mouth and removes deep stains left feeling spacious and clean, it is stated that. Carbonate is a soft mineral that dissolves quickly in water and is not very corrosive. It has much less etching properties than other cleaning agents sold. You can even use baking soda directly instead of toothpaste containing baking soda. Although this method is much cheaper, toothpaste is much easier to use and much tastier. If you are not using a fluoride-containing paste, it is useful to use fluoride-containing mouth water after brushing.

.
FIRST THE BRUSH, THEN THE ROPE

Should I use dental floss before or after brushing my teeth?

It is recommended to use dental floss after brushing your teeth. In addition, flossing can be very dirty before brushing your teeth. In addition, flossing before brushing distributes residues too much, causing more bacteria to enter the gum pocket. If you brush your teeth well, you will find that flossing will also be effective.
