HEALTHY AND SMILING FACES WITH DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY IN TURKEY

Ceramic fillings made using digital technologies in Antalya and Istanbul hospital clinics are suitable for the natural color and form of teeth. In addition, this system, which offers an attractive, healthy and long-lasting teeth in one session, also saves time.

Attractive and healthy teeth indicate the quality of life. It also makes us more confident. And this is one of the main reasons for happiness.Happiness, on the other hand, is like life rings that are intertwined with our self-esteem, social environment and psychology. If it becomes difficult to smile individually, it becomes difficult to reflect social tranquility. Even the most cheerful person, unless he can smile, will look unhappy. So, do we have the teeth to laugh happily? Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who have more than one advanced caries in their mouth because they don’t pay attention to their dental health, or who feel the need to close their mouth with their hand while laughing due to dental problems.

.
MERCURY IS HARMFUL TO HEALTH

For many years, metal fillings have been used in caries treatment, especially on the back teeth. Some dentists still continue to use these fillings. These fillers are not composed of a single metal, but of mixtures called alloys formed by more than one metal used to improve its properties. In this mixture, also called amalgam, there are also heavy metals such as mercury, which can affect the general health of a person. The side effects that 50 percent of the mercury contained in these fillers can cause in a person and the damage it causes to the environment are still questionable.

.
THE PHYSICIAN SHOULD WORK DILIGENTLY

Nowadays, due to aesthetics and health, alternatives to metal fillings are preferred. Composite decking, which has been developed as an alternative, is among the systems that are currently widely used. These fillers are white colored substances whose main structure is formed by resin and hardened with special wavelength lights (blue light). These systems are more advantageous due to the fact that they are aesthetic and do not contain mercury. But the important thing in the implementation of these systems is the careful and meticulous work of the physician, performing each stage in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Otherwise, there is a high probability of caries forming under the filling.

.
IT IS APPLIED ON THE SAME DAY

In addition, porcelain filling, which is a healthy alternative to these systems, has also been widely used in recent days. These fillers can be produced by technicians in Turkey laboratories. More importantly, it can also be produced by the doctor in clinics in a short time and can be glued to the patient’s tooth on the same day. The principle of these digital systems, called CAD-CAM, is based on computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing. In other words, apart from preparing the teeth for filling, everything from measuring, shaping, production after these stages is done with computer support. The margin of error in this system is reduced to almost zero.

.
3D IMAGE

The use of porcelain stoneware blocks specially manufactured for these devices and the fillings produced in the turning device are much more aesthetic and durable. Because these blocks are produced under high pressure and temperature. That is why it is much more durable than conventional porcelain produced in the laboratory. The dentist; In order to make a porcelain filling through CAD-GLASS, first of all, carefully cleans the rotten or damaged area and prepares the tooth. Then, with the help of a specially manufactured camera of the device, it takes a 3D image of the tooth and sends the data to the computer. The dentist designs the filling to be formed from a ceramic block, and the milling system produces this design.

.
METAL FILLER HARMS THE PATIENT AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Most patients with metal fillings in their teeth are not aware that there is mercury in the contents of the fillings. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the release of mercury vapor inside metal fillings will increase individual habits such as gnashing, squeezing, chewing gum, and consuming carbonated drinks. Mercury contained in amalgams can harm a person, as well as cause more harm to the environment than this. The mercury released during the removal of amalgam can reach water sources through sewage. Again, mercury vapor formed both during the application and removal of a large number of fillings can also affect people in the areas where the operation is performed.

.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF CAD-CAM APPLICATION?

CAD-CAM, first of all, saves time. The filler is designed and produced only in one treatment session and is applied to the patient. Patients do not need to go to the clinic more than once to be treated. Laboratory operations are not decoupled, everything is done by computer. Thus, the margin of error is minimized. In addition, the patient does not need to be anesthetized with a needle again in the second session.

Thanks to CAD-CAM, there is no need for applications such as silicone measurements that disturb patients. Patients do not bite the measuring spoon for minutes. In this way, it prevents their mouths from becoming numb or their jaws from hurting. In addition, taking silicone measurements in patients with a gag reflex turns into torture for both the patient and the doctor. Thanks to digital cameras, this is also prevented. With this method, the dentist takes an image of the patient’s teeth in seconds with the help of a small camera and transfers it to the computer.

.
THE COMPLAINT HAS DECREASED

Porcelain fillings made in more than one session require temporary filling before the patient goes home. However, temporary filling is not required in patients who have been applied a CAD-CAM system. The patient does not travel with a temporary filling material in his mouth until the final prostheses are ready. We have received a lot of complaints from patients about this in the past. In the past, after the carious tissue was removed, we covered the remaining tissue with a temporary filling material until the filling material was prepared in the restoration laboratories. There would be many patients who would call us during the periods when we were doing this application and complain that the temporary filling material had fallen off or that they had accidentally swallowed it in their sleep. In such cases, we had to call the patient back to the clinic and renew the temporary filling until the patient’s permanent restoration was ready. Thanks to digital dentistry, such troubles have also been left behind. Our patients no longer complain about such problems. In addition, ceramic fillings made by digital means are one of the longest-lasting restoration types. This has been proven by long-term clinical studies. Therefore, it is ensured that the treatments in Turkey performed using the CADCAM system last longer.

.
HEALTHY TEETH AND LONG-LASTING

Restorations made entirely of ceramics are the material that best matches the natural tooth color and form. It is quite difficult to distinguish restorations produced with CAD-CAM from real teeth of the patient. In summary; CAD-CAM offers attractive, healthy and long-lasting teeth to patients in Turkey in one session.
