HOW DO FRATERNAL TWINS OCCUR?

We have compiled for you all the details about fraternal twins, which are caused by the fertilization of two separate eggs during pregnancy and account for an average of two-thirds of all twin pregnancies. How do fraternal twins occur in Turkey? Here’s the answer.

Fraternal twins are also called dizygotic twins. Because fraternal twins consist of two separate eggs and sperm, such as siblings born at different times, their sex may be the same or different. Both can be girls or both can be boys. So, how do fraternal twins occur? What to know in our news…

.
WHAT ARE FRATERNAL TWINS?

All pregnancies begin when a sperm fertilizes an egg. This fertilized egg is called a zygote. Sometimes a woman’s ovaries lay two eggs, and two separate sperm fertilize each egg. These twins are called sibling fraternal twins or dizygotic twins (meaning two zygotes).

During pregnancy, developing babies receive oxygen and food from their mothers through the placenta and umbilical cord. Fraternal twins have separate placentas and umbilical cords.

HOW DO FRATERNAL TWINS OCCUR?

Sperm from mother and father fertilize both eggs. So two zygotes are fertilized. These fertilized zygotes (eggs) continue their lives at a certain stage of pregnancy, and development is achieved. Then babies ‘ body formations begin to develop. Fraternal twins can be the same or different sex, even blonde or brunette, as they consist of two separate eggs and sperm, such as siblings born in different years.

Because twins develop separately from each other, sometimes one can be underdeveloped and one can be more developed. This developing pregnancy can be considered as a kind of separate pregnancy. The only thing in common between the two babies is that they are both in the same womb and were born at the same time.
