WHAT IS FIBROMYALGIA? WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS? HOW IS THE TREATMENT?

One of the most important problems of the modern age is fibromyalgia syndrome. Fibromyalgia, which is more common in women and perfectionists, creates very important symptoms that impair the quality of life. Fib Decyalgia is a condition characterized by pain that also occurs in the form of muscle rheumatism or soft tissue rheumatism among the people and does not pass at certain points of the body.

There is no examination to definitively confirm the diagnosis of fibromyalgia. At the diagnostic stage, the doctor examines all the necessary examinations, listens to the patient’s history and conducts a medical-physical examination of the patient. 18 sensitive points are examined on the body. when there is no identifiable medical condition to explain chronic pain that lasts more than 3 months, fibromyalgia is diagnosed taking into account the available data. In this respect, the term ghost disease is also used for fibromyalgia syndrome.

Intense pains are the most obvious symptom in fibromyalgia syndrome. There is usually pain in at least 11 of the 18 points during the sensitive point examination. Patients often use the phrase ‘My everywhere hurts’ when expressing themselves. There are sensitive and painful areas on the body in the neck, back, shoulder, waist, buttocks ,elbows and knees. Not all fibromyalgia patients have the same pain points and pain intensity. Many or some of the symptoms may appear in the person.

Since fibromyalgia is a syndrome, the treatment pillar is multidisciplinary. After the diagnosis is received from the attending Turkish physician of the relevant branch, the patient’s exercise program should be organized, diet programs should be created, and Turkish psychological support should be provided. If there is a deficiency in the person, vitamin and mineral supplements should be taken. Intestinal problems should be eliminated and the patient should stay away from foods to which he is allergic-intolerant.

If a person has a toothache, a tooth-gum infection, or a different problem, they should definitely get support from the dentist in Turkey. Manual therapy, joint mobilizations, clinical exercises and medical massage are also very important for muscle musculoskeletal problems of fibromyalgia patients. Fibromyalgia patients need to exercise in a way and time that suits them. Heavy-incorrect training and sports can further increase existing pain. That is why the studies should be under the supervision of a Turkish physiotherapist. A person’s sleep should also be regular and of good quality.

There is no single treatment for fibromyalgia. When patients are constantly waiting for a definite result from a single treatment and do not get results from the treatment, or when the comfort provided by the treatment lasts too short, they become pessimistic and the pain may increase even more. When the necessary support is received from specialists for complete treatment, the problems are completely or very largely controlled and great success is achieved in the treatment. In the treatment of fibromyalgia, family understanding of the patient, knowledge about the disease and providing psychological support to the patient are also among the most important factors that increase the success of treatment in Antalya medical hospital Turkey.
