WHAT IS 24-HOUR BREAST AUGMENTATION OPERATION?

“24-hour breast augmentation”, the number of which has been increasing rapidly in recent days, especially in America, but which is also a topic of discussion among doctors, is on the agenda! And the reason is, it’s Winter.

This application, known as ”Flash Breast Augmentation“ i.e. ”Fast Breast Augmentation” and preferred by women for days such as weddings and graduations, does not yet exist in Turkey. However, having learned about this rising trend, the ladies have already started knocking on the doctors’ door. The fact that this application has become preferred by patients is not very positive in aesthetic circles. Having performed aesthetic and plastic surgeries in various countries of the world, especially in Germany and USA, UK.

Turkey Medicals member and JCI hospital in Istanbul, the Operator Doctor answered our questions about this new trend.

.
WHAT OPERATIONS ARE PERFORMED?

In this technique, the breast is enlarged with an implant, although not completely, and a method is applied that can give the patient this feeling after the procedure. But of course, the shape, weight, and texture of the injected fluid never gives off the air of natural breast tissue that a permanent breast implant gives. And most importantly, this is only a 24-hour application, because the injected liquid is 18. after the hour, it is excreted through the kidneys.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and in some cases by giving patients a light sedation. It is based on the principle of breast augmentation by injecting saline physiological fluid (saline) into the breast tissue. Patients can be discharged after that and return to their daily lives and activities.

.
WHAT COMPLICATIONS DOES IT HAVE, IS IT HARMFUL TO HEALTH?

First of all, it is necessary to know that this technique cannot be applied to everyone. In order for a breast to be enlarged by physiological injection of serum, the existing breast skin must be suitable for enlargement. Usually the method can work in women who have given birth, lost weight or already have a certain amount of breast tissue. But it is impossible to inflate breast tissue with serum injection, especially in young girls, where there is almost no breast tissue and the skin of the breast is tense.

In order to enlarge the breasts with this technique, first of all, the breasts should not be too saggy. Fullness can be achieved by injecting liquid, but this is definitely not a lift.

After all, the procedure is performed with a needle, that is, with a foreign body, many times by interfering with the breast from the outside, so there is a redness in the places where the needle enters. With the injection done, the breast and décolleté area are inflated and a plump appearance is obtained. Imagine that you are inflating a balloon, tense and bright, and what happens when its air comes out and goes out? A crumpled, matte and soft plastic remains in your hands. If you approach it with the same logic, you inflated the breast, and then its effect passed and landed. As soon as the old tension of the skin gradually cools and sagging occurs. Of course, depending on how much you inflate and how often it is applied, cracks may form on the skin, just as they may occur after childbirth. Another detail is that this procedure should not be performed too often. The more correct it is to perform the same procedure for three, four days in a row, the more fluid is excreted from the body, does it not disrupt the metabolic balance? These are controversial questions.

This procedure should definitely not be performed in pregnant women and women suffering from kidney disorders.

The biggest risk here is that there is a bacterial infection that can be in the mammary glands, cyst formation at a later stage, or bleeding if it is not done by a specialist, because the breast is intervened from the outside with a foreign body. It can occur as a result of the fact that this bleeding is a lump, that is, it hardens and does not disperse, and a future mammogram may look like a tumor structure. This, too, is not something to risk in order to have a full breast for 24 hours.

There is no scientific evidence, as this is a very new attempt in terms of the consequences of breast augmentation with saline injection. Therefore, although it seems unlikely that physiological injection of serum into the breast will cause any health problems in the future, there is no scientific evidence at the moment that it is not harmful.

.
IN WHAT AGE RANGE DO WOMEN PREFER, IN WHAT CASES?

The age range is between 25-50. Young girls are going to attend an invitation, graduation parties, etc., while the bride is making candidates for their wedding. There are even people who make their spouses pay for a wedding, relationship anniversary surprise.

We see that it is widespread in America and Europe, what is the situation in Turkey?

It is not yet a well-known, heard or frequently applied technique in Turkey. However, we hear that some patients have made requests, citing as an example the practices around the world.

.
WHY DON’T YOU RECOMMEND IT?

Because, “You are changing the architecture of the breast. I am worried about the deterioration of the internal support of the breast…” Breast tissue is especially rich in blood vessels, connective tissue, and mammary glands, and these tissues can be damaged after an injection into the breast. From the point of view of health, this condition may not cause a very big problem, but the bleeding is over a certain amount and when the body’s defenses are activated, this lump of blood can be surrounded and isolated by the body. A breast biopsy is a procedure in which the tissue is removed as a mass during a breast exam many years later, or mammography can also be confused with a suspected calcification of the cancer. I also think that financially it is also an expensive method of 24-hour short-term beauty and pleasure. If you apply it twice, you don’t pay for a breast implant, but on the other hand, you can get a lifetime of beauty with an implant.

As a result, although it is currently considered that there is no problem with the physiological injection of serum into the breast tissue, I do not recommend it because it is not a procedure that makes sense for patients to take risks in the long term, just for 24-hour pleasure.

.
IS THERE A SIMILAR BUT HEALTHIER METHOD, DO YOU RECOMMEND IT?

In a similar way, a filler (Hyaluronic Acid) that was applied specifically to the face about 6 years ago can be considered. Since it was completely absorbed from the body within 1 year, the thesis that it could be used for breast augmentation was put forward and the material was released. But many years after the injection of this filler into the breasts, it was found that it made it difficult to diagnose cancer on mammography, and its use was banned in America and Europe. Alternatively, oil injection can be considered. This technique can be an alternative for ladies who are thinking of enlarging their breasts without having an implant placed. But for this, adipose tissue must be developed in other parts of the body so that the fat taken from this area can be used in the breast. Most often with this technique, breast augmentation is performed in several sessions. Because this is our own tissue, and it is metabolized in the body. However, after the operation, the amount of 30% to 40% remains. Because of this, achieving the desired result can take both a long time and require more than one operation. At the same time, there are many opposing opinions on this issue, as to whether it triggers cancer. Of course, we never know if there are cancerous cells in the adipose tissue that we take or not, we can’t see the cells during surgery. Or there is a cancerous cell in the area where we are applying it, and we don’t know if we are spreading the cancer cells or feeding them when we inject well-blood-fed adipose tissue. There are no published or proven results on this issue in the world yet by the plastic surgery boards.

Therefore, research has been conducted on the healthiest one for many years, publications have been published, and breast augmentation surgery with an Implant that is still being talked about and is more natural, suitable for the body, is known.

The most correct and healthy thing for you is to talk in detail about it with your doctor, get acquainted with his negative and positive details about each alternative and make a decision together with your doctor.
