WHAT IS EYELID INFLAMMATION (BLEPHARITIS)?
.
Eyelid inflammation (blepharitis) is an eye disease that can be seen at any age and is quite common. The disease is divided into 2: anterior blepharitis and posterior blepharitis. In anterior blepharitis, the outer edge of the eyelid and the lash bottoms are affected. Blepharitis occurs due to excessive proliferation of bacteria in the body and fatty/ whole wheat skin. In posterior blepharitis, the part of the cap that touches the inside of the eye is affected, and tears are associated with the inability of the sebaceous glands to function normally.

Blepharitis usually causes irritation and redness when the small sebaceous glands near the base of the eyelash are clogged. Various diseases and conditions can cause blepharitis. It is usually a chronic condition that is difficult to treat, but it does not cause permanent damage to your eyesight and is not contagious.

TREATMENT OF EYELID INFLAMMATION ANTALYA IN TURKEY
.
The key to treating eyelid inflammation in Turkey clinics is to clean the eyelids and clear the scabs. Personal care measures such as washing your eyes and applying warm compresses may be necessary for most cases of blepharitis.

If personal care measures are not enough, your Turkey doctor may recommend prescription treatments, including:

  • Infection-fighting drugs
    .
It has been shown that antibiotics applied to the eyelid provide relief of symptoms and alleviate bacterial infection in the eyelids. They are available in a variety of forms, including eye drops, creams and ointments.
    .
In cases where topical antibiotics do not respond to treatment, your doctor may recommend an oral antibiotic.
    .
  • Drugs to control inflammation
    .
Steroid eye drops or ointments for this are usually only used for situations that do not respond to other treatments. Your doctor can prescribe both antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
    .
  • Drugs affecting the immune system
    .
It has been shown that topical cyclosporin relieves some signs and symptoms of eyelid inflammation.
    .
  • Treatments for underlying conditions
    .
Blepharitis caused by seborrheic dermatitis, rosacea or other diseases can be controlled by the treatment of the underlying disease. It is often recommended to limit or stop the use of eye makeup during the treatment of blepharitis, as its use will make eyelid hygiene more difficult.. Applying a hot compress can soften the shells. Then gently rub the eyelids with water and baby shampoo or eyelid cleaning product sold without prescription.

.
.
THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS ARE USEFUL FOR EYELID INFLAMMATION

  • If the glands on the eyelids become clogged, massage the eyelids to remove the oil accumulated in the eyelid glands.
    .
  • If prescribed, use artificial tear solutions or lubricating ointments.
    .
  • Use anti-dandruff shampoo on the scalp.
    .
  • Limit or do not do eye makeup at all during treatment, as it makes eyelid hygiene more difficult.
    .
  • Temporarily stop using contact lenses during treatment.
    .
  • Some cases of eyelid inflammation may require more complex treatment plans. Blepharitis rarely disappears completely. Even with successful treatment, blepharitis may reappear.
