THE EMERGENCY APPROACH IN DENTISTRY

We do not have enough information on how to provide first aid for urgent problems with teeth that arise at unexpected times. However, the emergence of difficult tables can be prevented with simple applications

Complaints such as emergency toothache, emergency tooth fracture, tongue-lip cheek injuries, non-stop bleeding after tooth extraction are mostly reported to the emergency dental department. In these and similar complaints, it is very important to come to the emergency dental department without neglecting it.

Blows to your teeth, lips, cheek, palate and tongue can lead to injuries and emergencies. For this, it is very important to protect your mouth and know what to do during injury. For example, wearing mouth guards while playing sports reduces the risk of injury. Eating hard foods such as popcorn, hard candy, and ice, or a soda can lid, etc. trying to open the lid can also cause tooth fractures.

People often do not have enough knowledge about how to provide first aid for urgent problems with their teeth that arise at unexpected times. However, with very simple applications to be made, the emergence of tables that are very difficult to solve later can be prevented. Dental problems that require an urgent approach include:

.
APPLY A COLD COMPRESS TO THE SWELLING

Toothache: Food deposits on the aching tooth and between the teeth should be cleaned using a toothbrush and dental floss, and the mouth should be thoroughly decanted with salt water obtained by adding half a teaspoon of salt to a half-water glass. Aspirin or any pain medication should definitely not be applied to the aching tooth. Due to their chemical structure, such drugs can cause irritation of the gums and surrounding soft tissues. This, in turn, will lead to the formation of a second pain next to the toothache.

If a swelling has formed on the face due to inflammation, a cold compress should be applied to this area. A pain medication can be taken before going to an Istanbul or Antalya dentist. If a cavity has formed on the tooth due to caries, cotton wool impregnated with a very small amount of clove oil can be placed here. Clove oil will help reduce pain. However, excessive use of clove oil should not be caused to leak into the gums when performing this procedure. Because clove oil also has the property of destroying soft tissues.

A dentist in Turkey for root canal should be contacted as soon as possible.

Tooth fracture / tooth injury: It should be protected by finding a broken tooth piece if possible with the idea that it can help treatment. a visit to the dentist should be made within 30 minutes. If bleeding has occurred in the area, pressure should be applied with a clean gauze swab. If the bleeding does not stop within 15 minutes despite the application of pressure, the nearest medical facility should be contacted.

Dental fractures; playing or dislocating teeth, injuries to oral tissues and concussions, often basketball, football, etc. it occurs as a result of road accidents with bumps and falls that occur when doing contact sports such as. The most appropriate method to be applied to prevent oral injuries and tooth fractures that may occur, especially in children who play contact sports, is to ensure that they use mouth protection.

If the tooth is displaced in its socket due to an impact, the tooth should be tried to be restored to its former position with a slight finger pressure. It should definitely not be forced when placing the female in her nest. A dentist should be contacted no later than 30 minutes.

.
NEVER GRAB THE TOOTH BY THE ROOT PART

Lip and cheek injuries: The injured area should be cleaned with warm water. If there is bleeding in the wound area, pressure should be applied with gauze to stop the bleeding. A cold compress should be applied from the outside of the cheek or lip. If the wound is too large and the bleeding continues, the dentist or the nearest emergency polyclinic should be contacted.

Dislocation of the permanent tooth: There must be a dislocated tooth. The found tooth should be kept from the crown (crown) part. By holding the tooth from the root part, further damage to the tissues here should not be caused. If the tissues in the root part of the tooth are damaged too much, it is not possible for the tooth to hold on to its socket. Foreign substances located on the tooth held from the crown should be washed under running water.

During the cleaning of the tooth surface, no rubbing should be done and certainly no brush should be used. First, try to place the female in her nest. If it can be placed in the top of the tooth, it should be bitten by putting a clean gauze on it to keep it fixed in place. In this way, the dentist should be contacted as soon as possible. If the tooth has not been placed in the socket, it should be protected in milk or water until it goes to the dentist.

Jaw fracture: Apply a cold compress to control swelling. Contact your Istanbul dentist or the emergency department of the nearest JCI hospital dental clinic department in Turkey.

.
RECOMMENDATIONS AFTER TOOTH EXTRACTION

It is normal to see swelling after intraoral surgical procedures, it is proportional to the degree of interference and trauma. If the swelling does not begin to decrease after the third day after the operation, there may be an infection and antibiotics may be given.

After the shooting, go to bed, if possible, provided that your head is high.

Do not eat anything for about two hours after the shooting. Avoid hot foods.

Do not use alcohol and drugs that can increase bleeding.

.
PRACTICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TREATING TOOTHACHE AT HOME

First, you can start by brushing your teeth and cleaning your entire mouth. This will alleviate the bacterial and acidic environment in your mouth.

You can rinse your teeth frequently by gargling with plenty of salty and low vinegar water. Salt water will help keep your mouth clean. Then, you need to drink a lot of water.

You can perform a natural anesthesia procedure on your tooth by applying clove seeds or clove oil. By pressing the clove seed on your aching tooth for a while, you can make the area numb and not feel the pain for a while.

Take the clove oil sold on the market and turn one small cotton ball into a ball. Soak the clove oil on it and pinch it on your aching tooth. After a while you will notice that clove oil relieves your toothache.

Considering that the problem in your mouth and teeth may not be limited to just pain, you should contact a dentist as soon as possible. Pain in your tooth can be a harbinger of gum disease.
