WHY IS THE DELTA VARIANT GETTING INFECTED SO FAST?

The Delta variant, which has alarmed the world, infects much faster than other species. Turkey Medical Microbiology Specialist Prof. Doctor explained the reason for this as follows.

The coronavirus nightmare isn’t over. The Delta variant, first seen in India, has started to spread in more than 80 countries, including the UK, Russia, Australia, causing case numbers to rise again and fourth-wave concern. Turkish Medical Microbiology Specialist Prof. Dr. gave the following information about the new variant…

.
HERE’S A NEW RESEARCH RESULT

A study conducted in Germany yielded new findings as to why the Delta variant is so contagious. Compared to the spike protein in previous variants of coronavirus, the Delta variant was more successful in reaching lung cells and was able to assemble the infected cells, the study explained. It has also been reported that it is very easy for the Delta variant to escape from immune system cells that can attack and neutralize it due to the principle of propagation.

.
ARE VARIANTS TOO DANGEROUS?

According to data obtained in COVID-19 special; variants are divided into two. The first group includes variants that need to be considered and carefully monitored. Although these show some structural changes compared to the original virus, they do not cause very important consequences for the disease. But in the second group there are variants that cause concern. In this group, there are variants that have increased transmission and can negatively affect the outbreak.

.
3 RULES MUST BE FOLLOWED

The most important point that can be said for the summer period and then the fall is to continue the measures. Vaccination programs continue apace. This is very valuable. But until the vaccination of the entire society is complete, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the rules of social distance and mask. At this point, each person’s own individual awareness is very important. It is only in this way that social awareness can be achieved that this problem can be overcome.

.
WHICH VACCINE IS MORE PROTECTIVE?

Studies so far have indicated that the Delta variant is also covered by vaccines. For this reason, rapid continuation of vaccination programs is extremely important to prevent the spread of the Delta variant. As it is known, Sinovac, which has been used since the beginning in our country, is an inactive virus vaccine, and BioNTech, which entered the second use, is in the mRNA vaccine group. Sputnik is a vector Adeno virus vaccine that has been agreed and will soon begin to be implemented. Compared to the three vaccines, Sputnik and Biontech vaccines are known to be close to each other. Sinovac, on the other hand, has a lower level of protection. All three vaccines have similar side effects in a short time, and very significant life-threatening effects are quite rare.
